Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

Gimme a second. [ closing her eyes, vi stretches out her senses to find any plants under what is probably permafrost or to find any nearby nature spirits, that can... lead her to some nature. (concentration 22) ]

[ dominik just watches her closely, glancing from side to side now and again to see if there's anything happening. there's indeed plenty of nature out there, all around - it's just frosty ]

[ vi breathes out a settled breath and then... it's fucking wildflower time. wildflowers everywhere. oh, new flowers, fancy russian flowers. FUCK U WINTER, SHE WILL NOT BE CONTAINED. flowers and grass and weeds, oh my. ]

[ as flowers start appearing up and over the side of the roof, growing over the ledge and across the stones, his eyebrows shoot straight up and he looks back at her ] ... That's all you?

[graveflowers]

[ eyes fluttering open, she stoops down to pluck a stalk next to her toes, cradling the tiny white flowers gingerly in her hands as they continue to bloom, releasing a sweet scent between them. ]

Snowflakes. [ vi offers a small shrug ] I told you Spring is my thing.

[selfcombust]

[ he reaches down to pluck one as well, with the hand that's not on fire, and considers it with a small smile on his lips, before reaching out to brush her hair aside just enough to place it behind her ear. he admires the effect for a moment before saying: ] Yes, it is.

[ a handful of more flowers burst over the edge of the ledge as a small smile plays across vi's expression. ]

So, Dominik Tsvetimir, what do you think of the insanity that we brought to your doors?

[selfcombust]

I think we were more than due for a change of pace. [ he extinguishes the fire, casting another look at the flowers ] You said you didn't want to stay out here. We don't have to.

[graveflowers]

I wish it wasn't so cold here, I like outside. [ by which she means she will begrudgingly go back inside because the other option is freezing to death. ]

[selfcombust]

There's a firepit that they light at night when they want to sit out here. That, or you can always ask me to provide.

[graveflowers]

I wouldn't want to impose. Or hoard you. That doesn't seem fair.

[selfcombust]

[ he chuckles ] That doesn't sound so terrible. [ but whatever, he'll walk past her towards the steps ]

[graveflowers]

[ she's not going to stay in the cold all by herself so she scampers after him. ]

Are you flirting with me or is that just how you talk?

[selfcombust]

Doesn't it take all the fun out of it if I tell you? [ he says. as flirtatiously as possible??? (charm 33) ]

[ deer in headlights, mistakes have been made this day ]

No? ...wait, what was the question?

[ it's been three years. apparently vi has no idea how to deal with being flirted with because warmth rushes to her cheeks blessedly already pink from the cold and the strange feeling of being flirted with makes her legs feel like jello and she has to grab his arm as she stumbles into him. ]

Oh, you're hot. Warm! You're warm. [ what the fuck. ]

[ he stops and smirks down at her, catching her readily as she falls against him with a nat 20 reflex save of his own.

she's not kidding. he's actually warm to the touch, which feels like a blessed relief in this climate. his eyes twinkle with amusement at her revelation, and the way she stumbles over her words. ]

Da, something of a side effect. [ his hand squeezes her arm slightly ] It is certainly something that helps with these long, freezing nights.

[ again, what the fuck ]

You smell like Idris Elba looks.

[ she should move but he's nice and warm and she feels weird. a strange fluttery dizziness. ]

[ well, he doesn't seem to mind just... standing here in the stairwell. at least it's protected from the winds here. his lips curve up further at the comment, and he reaches up to brush her hair back with the back of a finger. ] I hope that's a good thing.

[graveflowers]

[ because vi can't hide anything on her expression, confusion and then shock and then brief horror mingle on her expression briefly. do they not have idris elba in russia? what kind of hellscape did jack bring them to? ]

You are flirting with me, [ she finally decides. ] Why?

A man needs a reason to express interest in a beautiful woman? [ his fingers linger against her hair, as if waiting to see if she's going to indicate he should stop ] Things can't have changed that much out there.

[ now that she's put it out in the very blunt open, his eyes rake across her features slowly, in a way that makes her feel like the one whose skin is unusually warm ] It's been years since I had anything lovely to look at.

[graveflowers]

[ what the fuck. her mouth opens again, puffing out a startled little breath. still incapable of taking a compliment. ]

Our team is made up of many beautiful women, [ she points out, staying still so he can just carry on doing what he's doing. ] Lots of lovely to look at.

[selfcombust]

[ well, if that's the case, he'll just grow bolder, his hand shifting to caress her cheek with his thumb, his fingers dipping against her neck. he's uh, just sharing the warmth.

is he getting closer? ] Most of them already seem to have someone keeping them warm at night.

Plus, I doubt any of them can make flowers grow in a dead frost.

[graveflowers]

[ unconsciously she tips her head into his hand, like a kitten seeking warmth. because he is obviously just sharing the warmth in this suddenly very warm stairwell. ]

Was it the flowers that did it?

[pyrokineticist]

[ yeah he's definitely getting closer. his palm presses against her cheek, tilting her slightly upward as he bends near. ] You ask a lot of questions.

[ what the fuck ]

Was it? [ s l o w l y vi's hand leaves his arm, finally, shifting very slightly to ghost her fingers against his torso. ] It's only that you seemed more interested in showing off, which was pretty cool, and then poof, sudden interest in flowers, violets included.

[ a beat. ] That's what Vi is short for.
