Rebecca. [he corrects her on the name, rubbing the side of his face. he actually ... looks sad?? wtf emotion?????] Her name's Rebecca. Somewhere beachy, like Tahiti or Fiji.

[ she smiles a little, automatically, because tahiti was on her list with sylar. after oregon. but the smile vanishes quickly because she doesn't want to be smiling in the face of alex's sad expression. ] That sounds nice. What is she like?

this is hard for him to talk about ... because it's the first time he's ever had to talk about her since shit went down.] Gorgeous. Red hair, British accent. She's not British, though, she's ... Turkish or something. [he waves his hand dismissively, like wow her family tree was weird and i don't give a shit.] She steals shit. Like Catwoman, not Winona Ryder. She's a people pleaser. And a pusher. We always fought like crazy, but ... I don't know, I saw a lot of the better parts of myself in her. [and the worse ones too lbr.] She made me feel like a better person.

[ she sounds, well, like a normal person, to like, but the way alex talks about her makes it clear that even if he doesn't date, he still had a person. she doesn't interrupt or ask any more questions, but she does squeeze his hand, like a reminder that he still has her. ] She sounds... like just what you needed.

[ambitionist]

[he shakes his head, like he can sweep that whole emotional outpouring under the rug. or rather, like he is forcing himself to.] We literally fought all the fucking time. It was so toxic. We were awful for each other. It's better this way. [bluff 31 to sell that he actually believes that.]

[ yeah, bullshit. (sense motive 34) but she doesn't say anything about it, she just knows. she tries to hide the surprise on her expression, because it's sounds like he really liked her and he doesn't date, so she's trying to reconcile that and it plays out on her face.

No. [that's it. just no. because he's doing the thing where he shuts down emotionally; thinking about this hurts and he doesn't want to hurt so this is easier.]

Okay. [ she respects it. even if she wishes the answer were different because she wants to have a back up plan for amara, all the bases covered.

that's right. alex is more important to lila than amara. even if looking at amara makes her want to vomit. ]

Tahiti is on my list, too. I love the beach. My dad took me to the French Riviera. After I was a cat, but while I was cursed... I think. Yeah. I don't remember it, but I remember that I went.

[at this point, he starts smiling again and even laughs a little.] I actually hate the beach. I burn easily and I hate sand. It's a texture thing. [HE HAS A TEXTURE THING.] Beks loved it, though. Loves it. Whatever.

So you picked the beach even though you hate it, because it would make her happy. Do you love her? [ w o w that was not supposed to come out of her mouth. and she covers her mouth with her fingers when she realizes her brain just shut down. pls kick her out of the dragon's tongue and/or don't let her in. ] Sorry, that is not my business. You don't have to answer that.
