Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Myri, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Elena to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

[ and a fabulous cocktail party to follow, hosted by the dragon's tongue. it's an exceptionally classy affair, obviously, and the bubbly is flowing. ]

His definition of getting dressed up for this affair is apparently wearing a nicer shirt and black pants underneath his leather jacket. (disguise 15) Whatever. He still looks hot.]

[ no one has ever accused des and mark of being best friends, after what happened. but he can't walk on eggshells around him forever, so... here, des. mark just brought you a drink, which is thrust into his vision from the periphery. ]

[ buffy's boyfriend being out of town is made obvious by the fact that she rolls up to this ceremony (and the after party) with unbrushed hair, wearing sweatpants and a shirt that smells of stale sweat (disguise crit fail ...). despite the overall cringeworthy appearance, she's bubbly and animated, eager for the chance to play catch-up with failboat and to congratulate elena.

[ mark seems to be engaged in some kind of serious conversation with sir banks, who all but cornered him in a literal corner of the room, extra glass in hand. mark looks twitchy, glancing over his shoulder as he sips and nods tightly. his gaze seems to be wandering across the room for someone in particular sometimes, and occasionally he appears to notice whoever he's looking for, grimace a bit, then go back to the conversation, forehead furrowing as he listens. it's also worth noting that for mark, he looks a hot mess, his shirt somewhat untucked, his suit not ironed, and his hair sticking up in the back a bit (disguise 5). it's very uncharacteristic of him, but he seems too distracted to notice. ]

[Ruh roh, Elena notices something is clearly wrong/up/something or other. (Wis 20 total) Time to...cheer him up? Or figure out what's going on.

She approaches, drink in hand, and looks between the two of them, but is mostly focused on Mark.]

[ dumage isn't exactly elena's favorite person, so she's just going to drift through the rest of the crowd, flirting and dancing and judging other people who aren't as fabulous as she is (disguise 30). mostly buffy. you might catch her powdering her nose by the buffet table. ]

[ well, francesca is definitely not one of those people, however she tries not be as outwardly judgmental about it. she sidles up beside dumage, a drink in each hand. ] Glad to see they didn't leave you back in New York.

[Klaus doesn't really know these people (save the drink he shared with Spike post underwear snatching), and he doesn't particularly care to go out of his way to change that. He's here because Elena asked him, and she just so happens to be the current (and only) Petrova doppleganger in existence as far as he's aware. She's also proven herself to be a genuinely sweet girl, which was a nice little bonus.

He had to give props to the Dragon's Tongue for classing it up though. This event was definitely more up to his standard than most. He's completely content people watching with his drink to keep him company until the opportunity to grant Elena his congratulations in person presents itself.]

I take it you're a friend of Elena's. Or ex-lover, but she doesn't strike me as the type to carry any real interesting scandals around in her closet.

[Classy really wasn't Ric's thing. Sure, he could pull it off when he wasn't spilling liquor down the front of his pants and acting like a drunken mess, but he would have been much more comfortable in a less formal setting.

This was a big deal for Elena though, so he was willing to step outside of his comfort zone in show of his support. He was even limiting his alcohol intake to keep from repeating the scenario described above. That didn't mean he wasn't drinking lbr, but he was being responsible about it for a change.]

[So Elena nat 20'd her disguise check this evening (29 total), so she's basically smoking hot holy shit.

Come bother the lady of the hour as she sips at a glass of champagne, looking pretty much on top of the world. NOTHING CAN RUIN THIS NIGHT.

[With a 19 disguise check, Spike has pulled it together nicely, which might make up for the fact that he managed to be late enough to miss the ceremony and the first half of the party. BUT HE'S HERE NOW. And making a beeline for the girl of the hour.

When she turns around, he's probably standing a few paces behind her, admiring the view, because damn girl. He offers her a small private smile when she meets his eyes.] ... Sorry I'm late, pet.

[so yeah it's elena's special moment, and he's happy for her and all that — he even got her a card ok — but it would be a lie to say he didn't have some ulterior motives in showing up to this shindig. that weren't even on the same planet as congratulating elena. no, they were entirely myri-related. he knew she'd be here, and wouldn't be likely to run away upon spotting him because she's sort of required to be there. and she wouldn't want to miss out on elena's after-party, anyway.

so here he is, lurking around like a lurky thing waiting for the opportunity to approach myri but not ... unopen to being approached by anyone else. also he is lookin' hawt. (disguise 21) jsyk.]

[Myri carries a proud smile with her, and has certainly gone all out for the occasion (disguise 20). No matter what else might be plaguing her old teammates currently, or in the recent past, none of it dims how happy she is for Elena.

She doesn't go out of her way to speak to any of Failboat, but she isn't avoiding any of them either. After her conversation with Finnick, however, she does slip quietly out of the room when no one is looking. She probably needs a moment.]

[Turns out that Rose is in fact capable of putting in some serious effort (Disguise 22) when it comes to being there to support her best friend. Seeing as this is an invite only deal, she'll be a whole lot more relaxed than she usually is at formal things and will even go out of her way to introduce herself to people.

Mostly, she's playing a game of 'match the faces to the stories' that Elena has been telling her.

Also. She swears, unless this thing gets gatecrashed by the Mob or something? There will be no punching or fighting of any kind. That will be a first for Rose at a formal event.]
