Talk about a soiree.  The team has walked into what is clearly legitimately a Gatsby party, but with an Indian flair.  Even upon approach, it's easy to see that this place is without parallel:  people are driving cars right up on the lawn of the fabulous mansion, which looks half-modern and half like a palace out of a Bollywood film.  Men and women in bright colors, fabrics, beads and silks move inside en masse, and as the doors are opened before them, they can see the grandness of the interior, with its diamond garland, draped fabrics, giant jeweled elephant statues, indoor trees that arch to the ceilings, twirling dancers, and a tall dramatic staircase leading up to a balcony above where the host himself reclines surrounded by admirers and friends, smoking a cigar.  

Liquor flows freely, and food is carried around on golden trays through the crowds.  It's an overwhelming buffet for the senses, a dizzying spectacle of color, laughter, dancing, and entertainment.

And yet I don't see any of you bothering to explain who you are. I didn't lose the decanter or one of my people but I am losing patience with the attitude I'm copping and the lot of you expecting something from me when you're giving me nothing in return.

The only thing I care about is making sure that decanter doesn't end up in the wrong hands which actually makes me the only person here who can be objective. You all are focused on getting your friend and he's more worried about Loko whatever guy.

[ He turns his head towards Alex, a curious look on his face before stepping up close to her, in her face, maybe a bit closer than he should (intimidate 25 - even if he doesn't quite mean to be). ]

[Alex's eyes narrow into a scowl, hands curling into fists and she glares at the one trying to invade her space. (Will Save 26).]

[ thor is having avengers flashbacks and he doesn't even go here. ] If she wishes to aid in the fight to recover what Loki has stolen, I fail to see why you should deny her.

I'm Andie by the way. And that was super cool how you used the spill thing to get into the kitchen and start answering questions. I mean, I think that's what you were doing. Unless you really were upset about the spill in which case I'm sorry do you want me to get you another shirt? I need to get like five sandwiches and a real sword anyway... what size are you? [And her diplomacy check was only a 12. BUT MAYBE WITH THE DOCTOR'S, THEY CAN GET THROUGH TO HER?]

With a bitter shake of her head, Alex steps back from Mr all up in her face, (Nat 20 Will Save - Sorry Doc, girl has personal space issues) and it sure does look like no amount of diplomacy is going to smooth this one out.

Except Brooke is making up her own rules and is giving Alex a -10 penalty on her Will Save against Andie, on account of Andie being Andie (WS 9.) Tabletopping like a boss.

The scowl on her face softens infinitesimally and she's going to ignore pretty much everyone else except for Andie and Thor because, they're pretty much the only two people she's not having trigger happy thoughts about.]

My name - is Alex. [P r o g r e s s ?] And you'd be right about the drink spill so... thanks.

[Deep breaths now before she shoots Alex K in the face.]

As I was trying to say before. I don't want the decanter for myself. Personally, I'd like to see the damn thing destroyed but I've heard chatter through some contacts that an organisation I promise you, you haven't heard of because as far as anyone is concerned, it doesn't exist, wants it. Now, there's a chance that this Loki character has teamed up with them. Judging by what I saw of him tonight? That would be very bad news. Now as long as he - [Pointing to Alex.] can keep his mouth shut and he [Pointing to Thor.] Can get me into Russia undetected - I'm all for putting our differences aside until this is over.

[Andie's missed most of this conversation because she's vanished, but by the time they're done she's back, rapier strapped to her waist, holding a bag of food from the hotel and a t-shirt. She may have kind of sort of stolen it, but she left money and a note, so it's all okay right?!? They're working on limited time! She holds out the shirt to Alex. It's a little big, but not to a crazy degree.]

[In a comical move, Alex pinches the bridge of her nose at the exact same time as David, refocusing on Andie as she returns way too quickly for Alex to comprehend how she did it.]

Wynn's getting us transportation. We're going to head back to the hotel and suit up - this is probably an into the fire sort of situation, so make sure you're battle ready. And if one of you has a laptop, we're going to need it.

[Don't ... ask. Then he turns on Alexandra.]

Wynn said to bring you in, but I'm the leader on this mission. If you have a problem with that ... suck it up.

[He won't kick her out, but he won't really tolerate insubordination either. Sorry. And finally, he directs his attention to Thor.]

You can work with us or we can work around you - it wouldn't be the first time I had to plot a rescue mission around a god pissing match. But we're going in for Natasha. Working with us makes all our lives easier, but that's up to you.
