CHAPTER THREE ♔ what's done in the dark will be brought to the light

♬ god's gonna cut you down - johnny cash
WHO || The Knights
WHAT || The aftermath of Chapter 2
WHERE || London, England and variou
WHEN || Evening of June 7th --> onwards
HOW || Actionspam. Single thread.
In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.
A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.
A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.
A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.
Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.
A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.
A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.
And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.
Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.
In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

But whatever, even if it's just one person on each team then it'd work. So if everyone else opted out it wouldn't even matter as long as Stiles volunteered to potentially become his butt puppet.
And since no one else is voicing their hesitation, he just assumes they're all in except for Lila. Which is a little surprising given how people are usually anti-telepathy.
It also makes Adam wonder what Lila's deal is--especially since she was at the psionics lecture, too.]
Is your boyfriend that guy you were with at the convention? [Creepy would be the descriptor he opted against using here.]

[ bc she's pulling into the airport rn but it takes like a full fucking minute to get from the airport turn to the departure gate. ] Stiles, what parking lot is the tower closest to?
no subject
Just thought I'd put that out there because this is real life, son.]
no subject
Well... all of them. It's sort of right in the middle of everything. Because why would this be easy?
Do the short stay car park. South end.
no subject
[ she drives them in that direction, following the signs to point her to the south terminal, which was luckily where she was headed anyway. departures, yo, actual force of habit. ]
no subject
[yeah he still doesn't grasp the depth of this situation. #sociopath problems.]
no subject
[ nothing is easy at airports. nothing. ]
no subject
meet you at the one in departures in ten. caramel frappuccino.
[ pls hold while lila presses the button to get into the garage and takes the little ticket. wonder if they'll validate for a rescue mission... AND PARKING OKAY. done in the car. be free, little butterflies. she kills the engine and tucks the keys in her pocket, brushing her hair back from her face. ] Should have brought my parking pass. [ really lila? really? the five bucks you're going to drop on the garage is too much for you?? ]
no subject
Let's be real it's probably Stiles because Jaime is wearing fucking armor apparently. Can someone please explain to this guy how metal detectors and low profiles work.]
no subject
lydia steps out primly because she showed up to this mission in a minidress and high heels. at least she is stylin. she pulls her purse up onto her shoulder and glances around the parking structure to try and get her bearings, then heads off in the right direction, expecting the others to follow (nav 17). ]
no subject
We'll be in touch?
no subject
Surely I'm not the first of my sort of knight to wish to travel by air? Don't they make any exceptions?
no subject
And, after casting a glance toward Stiles like wow good luck getting to air traffic control on your own there, turbo, he just follows after Lydia because he would rather surround himself with competent people.]
no subject
You'll be fine, starshine. I've seen weirder shit on my flights. [ because he's going to the tower and not the terminal. so, reasonably, he could take his sword, but she's not going to bring it up. she gives stiles a little look before setting off after lydia, fishing her phone out of her skirt to order a cookie from sylar, too. ] You're going to need Adam to talk you into the tower, we'll split up after that. Come on.
[ hustle cupcakes! ]
no subject
[He's usually better at this (no he's not).
Moving and shaking with the rest of the team tho.]
no subject
At the very least, I've noticed that going around in my usual get-up is a good way to attract attention. If need be, I'll work wonders as a distraction.
[SURPRISE. He actually does know what he's doing.]

[ out comes the phone, texting helen for a photo. perks of your mentor being everyone's go-to m.d. ]
I'm sure I can get a picture.

no subject
Uh.
[Slowly raising his hand]
Hi, so... we're looking for a shapeshifter right? Person that can look like other people?
[HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT. HE IS SO CONFUSE.]
no subject
She's using magic. Elena can do it without a spell. [ get it together, stiles. ]
