[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

[Ah, Thoster loves the castle bar. It's one of his favorite places to end up in the evenings, and since he's not at all shy, he has no problems walking right up to Nick and knocking his beer against the other man's drink.]

Haven't seen you in here before. Are you new? [Or is Thoster just slacking on his goal to know basically everyone. It could be a little of both.]

[ Hawley grins and easily accepts the company, because it always made these evenings here more enjoyable. Even if Thoster's not a pretty girl, which this place seems chock full of, but Hawley's been feeling a little outnumbered of late. Maybe Wynn just had a thing for females? Weird, but possible.

All the same, he clinks his bottle against the other in return, a comfortable wordless greeting. ]

Newish? I've made it all the way to Squire-thingy now, at least. I'm told that's an accomplishment. Personally I think they just want to see how many of us can fall flat on our faces while trying to move in a suit of armor.

[He gives a hearty chuckle at that.]

Aye, it's no easy task. But you survived! And you've found the bar. That's half the battle, friend.

[procurer]

Finding the nearest bar is my superpower, actually. [ Nick jokes as he tips back his bottle for a swallow. ] Which is a good thing, because I happen to enjoy winning. Especially if there is alcohol involved.

Nick Hawley. [ He adds his name a moment later, remembering his manners as he holds out a hand to the man who's joined him. ]

Thoster Chatwyn. [He responds, taking the man's hand and shaking it firmly.]

A fine ability, if I've ever heard of one. You seem like a man I'd like to keep nearby.

I typically don't object to being kept. Much. [ His lips quirk into a wry sort of smirk as he shakes the man's hand in return and then settles back on his stool comfortably once more. ]

So you're one of the veterans around here, I take it?

Aye, been here a few years now. Longer than I've stood still in any one place since I was a lad.

[procurer]

You move around a lot, normally? [ Nick can sympathize with that one. He has his boat as a home base, but even that could go wherever he needed to be. He wasn't one for setting down roots much. not normally, anyway. ] You miss that? Or is this whole gig worth it?

[bluffcheck]

Before I became a knight, I captained a ship. [He says with a nod.]

I miss it from time to time, but I have my ship still, so if I ever have the itch, it's well within reach.

[procurer]

[ Nick's gaze lights up like that, like Thoster just said a magic word. ] Really? What kind? And it came here with you? Or are you one of the ones who's lived here all along? [ He's heard by now that this is also a thing. ]

Sailed right through the Veil with her. [He laughs.] I've got her docked and ready to sail at a moments notice, if you're up for a trip?

[procurer]

I might take you up on that. [ Simon grins, bright and pleased. ] I have a boat back home, but probably nothing like what you're talking. Can you just up and leave here, though? I was kinda told they watch us pretty close. Or maybe that's just me. Seems like I need a Knight signing off for a lot of things that... well, probably would get me into trouble, so I guess I see their point.

Ah, you get used to that. Just have to sign out what's not yours, of course. Wynn's kind enough to let us borrow his things. Seems only right to sign our names to it. But so long as you aren't scheduled for a mission, you can come and go as you please!

[procurer]

Well, that's a relief, then. Even though it'll take a bit to get used to driving on the wrong side of the road over here. Not a lot of practice at that. [ More than he was going to admit, though. Those were times better not talked about, however. ]

So what do you usually do when you're not floating about?

Oh, bit of this and that. If you ever catch a strange tune being hummed late at night, that's likely me. Been exploring these night clubs that London has to offer.
