[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. [It's probably not surprising that Han mostly sees her in the garage. Like father like daughter. He nods at her as he goes over to the bike he's been working on, looking over her work.]

How's it coming along?

[flyingsolo]

Well, she's not hovering yet. [ she sounds legitimately disappointed ok ] Some days it really hits home how backwater this planet is.

[parsecs]

Noticed that, did you? [He gives her a lopsided grin as he sits down on a crate by her.] I've been working on just about the same thing. The flight technology here's about as useful as nerf dung.

[flyingsolo]

Apparently, they made a big deal out of reaching their own moon. [ she just looks at him like RLY. ]

[parsecs]

[He snorts, amused.] And that was forty years ago. They still haven't managed to do anything more impressive than that besides sending primitive droids to a few of the closer planets. [He rolls his eyes.] Sending sentients is, apparently, too expensive.

[flyingsolo]

Sometimes it feels a little claustrophobic.

[parsecs]

I know what you mean. [He's been living in this place for years. It's still hard to look up at the sky and not be able to reach it.] Ain't really how I saw myself living out my life.

[flyingsolo]

You don't think we'll ever find a way back?

[parsecs]

I don't know. [He'd like to hold onto hope. He really would. But the technology here is so backwards and from everything he can tell, this galaxy is so far, far away that getting home won't be as simple as cobbling together a working hyperdrive. He's a decent mechanic and an amazing pilot, and he doesn't like ruling out his ability to do anything, but this task seems pretty far beyond him. When it comes down to it, he's just a guy with a blaster. There's only so much he can do when it comes to traveling between different universes.

Still, he doesn't want his daughter to lose hope. He musters up a smile and gives her shoulder a reassuring pat.] But I'll bet you've got a better chance of finding it than I do. Jedi powers and all.

[flyingsolo]

I want to know what you know about them. I know you say it's... not much, but. I need to know.

[parsecs]

Yeah, of course. [He rubs his head, grimacing.] Just wish I knew more. [Or that Luke was here, or that Leia remembered anything.]

So, uh, let's see. The Force goes through everything, right? And there's a light side and a dark side.

[flyingsolo]

Alright. [ she's giving him a look like DAD I'M NOT FIVE ]

[parsecs]

[He raises a hand, smirking slightly.] Hey, I don't know what you know already. Uhh, you got a lightsaber? You can use it and the Force to deflect blaster fire if you do.

[flyingsolo]

Somehow I'm guessing I can't pick one of those up at the corner store on Earth.

[parsecs]

Nope. Besides, most Jedi build 'em themselves. [He scratches his head.] Though that might just be because there are so few of 'em left.

[flyingsolo]

Left? What happened to them?

[parsecs]

You don't know? [He grimaces, looking away.] They were all killed off when the Empire rose to power. Only a few escaped, and it's pretty much just your Uncle Luke that's rebuilding now.

[swordofthejedi]

Killed off? Why? Because of the power they wielded?

[parsecs]

Got it in one. They would've stopped him, so he declared 'em all traitors and sent his army after them.

[flyingsolo]

And my Uncle was one of those who escaped?

[parsecs]

Your uncle was only barely born. But they hid him, yeah. So he could grow up and save the galaxy.

[flyingsolo]

And did he?

[parsecs]

He helped. [Han shrugs a shoulder, smirking easily.] I mean I did most of the important stuff....

[flyingsolo]

[ sense motive 14???? ] I should have guessed.

[parsecs]
