[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. He bends forward a bit, pointing beside her near her feet as if there's supposed to be something there, his expression expectant.]

[Though it's clear that he's just as pleased to not have had to deal with the possibility. It would probably take more than a simple fire to destroy his twigs, but ouch.

Also, sorry, Rocket. He didn't mean to hide from you. It's hard to search for a friend when you're stuck in a pot or a forest regrowing your legs.]

[His expression appears almost concerned, as if he's trying to process the fact that this woman truly knows who he is, and apparently he's supposed to be able to do the same.

Finally, though, he shakes his head sadly.]

[Fortunately, he's used to people assuming that, so he'll just roll with it, reaching out to shake her hand in return.

His grip is incredibly strong (str 24).]

[Being the thing no one has encountered yet is basically his entire life. It's cool.]

[She smiles quickly.] Yeah, it does sound that way. Saving the world sounds like a pretty nice gig, though. And busy.

[A pause, then she just figures, why not say it (b/c somebody crit failed a will save here) ] I was with a place called the League of Assassins. Not much avenging or shield-ing there.

[Clint's eyebrow manages to achieve new heights when he hears that comment.] Oh really? That doesn't exactly sound like the neighborhood association. I don't have anything to worry about now, do I?

And it don't take me six months to break out of any prison, but hey. Guess what happened to me.

[He hasn't been candid about Andres in a year. He still won't talk about it to anyone who didn't see how he reacted to all of it (and even then the matter has been allegedly put to bed), but Groot's different. Groot... well, Groot knew at one point, and while Rocket can't remember a lot of all that and god only knows how much Groot remembers thanks to the Veil, it's still something that Rocket only trusts Groot with.]

It ain't been the best couple of years, buddy.

No, it really wasn't. They found me after I'd been 'saved' from a shipwreck, so they 'saved' me from that second bad situation. At least they brought me back to health. Physically, anyway. And that's where I met Nyssa, so...

[That might have been the only good thing to come from it.]

You're definitely safe. 'International assassin' is a job title I'm happy to leave in my past.

"Yeah ... honestly I just think of an explosion in a glitter-making factory when I think of sparkling skin. Or, you know -- someone after a nice and long, extreme workout." One of those has a higher probability of happening, though, than the other. Twilight why would you do this and lead people on the wrong path of thinking this way? And for the record, she meant a workout like on a treadmill or something, but after she said it the way she did -- her wording made her mind go to the gutter for a different meaning, whoops. She'll have to word that differently next time.

"No downsides sounds like a fair trade off." Ish? Depending what the perks were, probably.

Sounds to her like she was targeted specifically. Which, given her own past affiliations, she probably shouldn't be too surprised. But since Thea seems very serious about this, she'll have to go with it for now. "I'm guessing these people probably went with the affiliation of League of Assassins?" She didn't exactly hang with saints, after all.
