The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Topher shows up literally in jeans and probably a tacky sweatervest, because what is being fancy (disguise 5). He didn't try at all, basically. Contrary to the nerdy wallflower stereotype, Topher is just thrilled to death to be working with an organization that probably isn't secretly evil.

He hopes, anyway.

Which is why he's hovering around the snacks, blabbering on to anyone who will listen and not caring if anyone listens at all, because he's a small dog sometimes.] I mean I don't normally get behind all that swearing in skull-and-bones weirdness, but it feels comforting almost... [He pauses as he eats, considering something.] Also the armor was just really cool.

[so affronted] This is... how I typically dress. [He glances down, realizes his shirt is untucked and fixes that, awkwardly.] I didn't realize this was gonna be a fancy clothes thing.

[Malina is looking flawless (disguise 20 total) as she makes her way over, possibly to the point where it might be a little intimidating. It's not that she has anything against Topher (yet), she does know that he's from Pegasus.

Kali seems to think that he's a fragile, delicate baby bird that needs to be protected, but given that Malina distrusts anything Pegasus that isn't one of their moreaus, she wants to get a better gauge on this for herself.

Yeah, that's where I'm from, I think. [ He took his free hand up and flicked his own temple.] Pretty much everything is gone from before I woke up in Leira, [ Norway... not the deity.] so I can't really be sure. Sorry.

I mean, some people wear modern day armor, but the whole scale mail and full plate thing isn't actually all that common. [ a beat. ] Except for Lan. It's pretty much his thing.

[that is a lot of white, lila. fortunately labor day is literally a week away, so topher can't say anything spectacularly stupid about it.]

So why all the pomp and circumstance with the armor and the squiring and whatever? Is it just to separate us from the other secret ops organizations out there? 'Cause the dragon motif kiiinda did that, already. Also I think MI6 doesn't let this many Shadowkind in, but I could be wrong about that.
