[Yep, Malina is right behind him - not that she was smoking with him, but they were probably having a conversation prior to the smoke break and she just follows him. IT DOESN'T MATTER, SHE'S HERE, THAT'S THE POINT.

Her eyes roam over the ship for a moment as she comes up behind Alex, before turning her attention back to the new guy.]

I should just start ... counting down the days to Independence Day.

[Seriously? Two crashed spaceships in one year?]

[ Gaz was inside when she heard a loud crackle and mechanical whine, and immediately headed to a window to check it out. What she sees astounds her: some sort of metal dragon falling from the sky! She runs outside, to join the others who are already approaching the fallen object. They don't seem nearly as on edge as she is, but still she's wary. ]

I'm sorry, you mean to tell me you rode in on that?

[Poe looked over at the three people, confused. They were speaking Basic, but not an accent he had ever heard before.]

Yeah, hey sorry. I wasn't expecting to get caught up in... a lightning storm on my jump. I uh... what planet is this?

Earth. [and then he jerks his head to comment to malina] Another one! Can you believe this shit? What's the likelihood of that?

[pats Alex on the shoulder a bit before turning back to Poe.]

I'm Malina. This is Alex. What's your name?

[She would introduce you too, Gaz, but she doesn't know you, sorry. ;;]

And I'm Gaz. I'm guessing you and your... craft arrived the same way I did, not too long ago. Though I've got to say, I didn't come through with as much fanfare.

[ No, she was just covered in blood and in the middle of a desert. ]

Earth. [weird name...] I haven't heard of it before. Must be in the Unknown Regions. [he looked down at BB-8 as the droid started to whistle and restart up] Don't worry, Buddy. I'll get you out.

I'm Poe Dameron. This is BeeBee-Ate. There ain't by chance a way one of you could help me get him out of here?

[he puts his gun away and approaches closer to poe's whole situation. another pilot from outer space wasn't necessarily a bad thing ... since it just meant another pilot for him to attempt to seduce. (unsure) he has really specific goals, okay.] Yeah, yeah. [and then he somehow nat 20s his climb check to get up on the ship with poe. literally born for this, ok.] What, does he just need a good yanking?

[Malina is not even going to bother to climb that shit for a poor little robot, but she will stand at the bottom and supervise.]

I can try to mage hand him out?

[ Gaz is confused why they're giving the metal ball a name and calling it 'him.' Is it some sort of golem or something? Is it sentient? ]

It looks heavy, but if you can lift it out, I can catch it.

He's not that heavy, he's just caught in the ship and someone needs to wedge the stabilizers open.

[he looked down at Malina] I don't know what you're referring to. That some kind of lifting technique from this world?

[ jaina sure made her listen check as well, and runs out the back steps towards the scene, shock on her face for more reasons than the obvious as she looks between those gathered and the craft. ] Is that an X-Wing?

[Miles is tagging along just behind her. They were probably being cute in the garage. Or doing their jobs, w/e.]

What the hell's an X-Wing?

[I guess they haven't talked much about specific space ships from her world idek his knowledge check was shit.]

[Oh hey, it's Miles and Jania. But Malina is going to ignore them for a moment before casting Mage Hand, but BB-8 is probably heavier than five pounds so it likely won't do much good, but it might wiggle him loose?]

Yeah, it's mine. [oh thank the Force someone recognizes his tech. BB-8 shoots out a few wires now that the mage hand has shifted him, and they can use them to lift the circular droid out of the hole easier]

It's a single pilot fighter capable of hyperflight as well as being a star fighter with four laser cannons as well as carrying an array of missiles. [how he remembers that and not where he was ten minutes ago - totally beyond him]

[ with a 24 repair check, jaina moves forward to help finish easing bb-8 out, but she's shooting poe a Look now ] I know. They don't have them in this world. I used to fly one.

So this is like...an actual space ship. Not just some kind of high tech fighter plane?

[Miles looks back at the line with big eyes.]

Holy shit.

[Time to check this thing out. He's so excited udek.]

I was actually explaining it to him. [motioning at Miles. but Poe's face lit up a bit at Jaina] You used to... so you're a pilot too?

[farmgirlfighter]

Hang on, somebody explain it to me, please? A what ship? A fighter what?

[ Gaz has rarely felt so out of her element. ]

I was a pilot back home, but I don't-- remember much beyond missing it. [ she frowns - it's a source of endless frustration to her, after all ] But I would know that tech anywhere. [ she glances at gaz, struggling to figure out how to explain this ] It flew him here. From another world.

[with the bb-8 situation sorted out, he's content to hang back. and crack wise. ] There oughta be a support group for you people.

[And more specifically to Gaz:]

He came through the Veil, like you did. He just got to bring his ride with him.

Well, if you think you remember this thing more than missing it, I may need a hand or two fixing her. Half the systems are fried.

[ BB-8, free from the ship now, rolled around a bit to let his sensors take in the new surroundings and running the landscape against the pieces of his data banks that had not been compromised. When he couldn't find a match, he whistled nervously and stayed close to Poe as he hopped down to the ground and the others nearby ]

Alright, so explain to me what this Veil is, cause I do remember being in hyperspace and then getting hit by some kind of electric blast. That what this Veil is?

[farmgirlfighter]

[ Gaz is still shaking her head. Don't get her wrong, she's grateful for the explanation, but if she hadn't seen it crash with her own eyes, she never would have believed this thing could fly. Plus, she still doesn't trust the rolling metal ball construct... ]

Yeah, flashes of lightning then suddenly you're somewhere you weren't a second ago, and you don't know how you got there or where exactly you were before?
