Sidelined from the mission that has been many of their lives for years, the group who had once stood against Keijen Blade has made a dangerous gambit - they've decided to leave the Knighthood, knowing they may never be allowed to return.  With them, have gone Sam and Dean Winchester, and Faith Lehane.  Their destination?  A distant monastery overlooking the village of Krozna, in the Ural Mountains.   This hidden location was home to many Shadowkind who did not wish to deal with the prejudice that their appearance might force upon them out in the world, particularly in Russia.  Wynn had apparently established a location here for Knights that broke the rules of the Knighthood so extremely to reflect upon their crimes, or for those whose powers made it impossible for them to live out in civilized society.

This monastery of misfits is run by a man named Mikhail Kalachnik, a willing exile who volunteered for the position, a man vouched for as trustworthy by both Jack Chessing and Finnick Odair.  It is here that the former Knights will set up a base of operations from which they intend to rescue Rafael Giovanni, research a way to stop Keijen Blade, and take him down once and for all, along with the evil Mind Master.  

But first, they must get to know the exiled Knights with whom they will be sharing this hideout...

A timeless argument. [ annnd out they go into the frigid fucking cold, where he starts up some steps towards the roof.

he looks entirely unaffected by the cold, even though he isn't even wearing a coat. ]

So we have... had? Anyway, there is this Ifrit girl at the castle, smoking hot, I make no apologies for that, but like seriously, ridiculously attractive, it's disgusting. We've never met, I just stared at her from afar. And I've seen lava giants. All this to say: if you breathe lava or throw fire or juggle volcanos, cool. But I will freeze to death if this takes sixteen years and I am too cute to die of frostbite. Or gangrene from frostbite.

Like as a warning, I will haunt you.

[ he smirks at her words as they walk across the expanse of the roof area, and then lifts his hand to his chest, turning to look at her. ] You have my word. I won't let that happen. [

and then his hand bursts into flame. within seconds, the fire spreads across his entire body, his eyes visible through the licking flames, glowing white-hot now in a way that seems to transform him from a mere man into something almost god-like himself. he snaps his hand down and there's a sudden tendril of flame that extends along with it, cracking against the floor and leaving sparks where it strikes. the flame whip looks barely stable, glowing whiter as he flicks his wrist and uses it to strike at one of the low walls of the roof, leaving scorch marks there.

in fact, now that she looks, there's a lot of scorch marks up here.

the heat radiating off from his body is enough to banish the cold up here almost instantly, and she feels the heat carried on the wind as it brushes her face, which is no doubt illuminated by the dancing fire as well. ]

[ vi whispers: ] Oh my Johnny Storm.

[ because she's an adult. but she watches him with awe, lips parting in surprise. this boy is literally on fire and even though vi is the daughter of a nature goddess and plants are very flammable, she knows the renewing power of fire. she can't deny that the warmth draws her in like a moth to, well, a flame. her cheeks feel hot, eyes stinging with dry, but gosh, it's beautiful.

when she manages to speak again, it's a half-breathless, half-wry: ] Show off.

[ he grins from within the flames, lowering their intensity just a bit so that she can more clearly make out his features, more of a dim glowing nimbus around himself now ] Oh, that? Wasn't showing off.

But if you insist...

[ and with that, he'll banish the firewhip and step to the crenellated edge of the roof, climbing up on the thin wall, looking back at her with a wink, and then stepping out into the air.

his foot seems to step firmly onto nothing, and he follows it up with another step, and another. each time he takes a step, he leaves a strange smoking aftermath in the air there, hanging for a moment before the wind blows it away ]

[ oh that's just not fair. vi wants to fly. zeus might nudge her out of the sky for trying it but... ]

You're really putting anything I can do to shame and frankly it's rude.

[selfcombust]

[ finnne, he'll turn around and firewalk back, extinguishing himself as he hits the roof ] You asked.

I didn't realize you'd deliver quite so dramatically. [ BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY ] How is your suit not one fire?

[selfcombust]

[ he chuckles, walking back towards her, and nursing another small fire in his hand to return some warmth to the roof, drawing it between them ] Because the flames are under my control, down to the heat they radiate. They don't actually touch my suit.

[graveflowers]

[ yes good, return the warmth to her. she hums thoughtfully, eyes drawn to the little ball of flames again. ]

All that control. [ her eyes flick back up to his face. ] So why are you here?

[ #blunt ]

[ he holds her gaze for a long moment, the lights reflecting and dancing in his eyes, which take on a solemnity that wasn't there before. finally, he looks down, his cheeks tensing ]

Because. All that control doesn't happen overnight.

[graveflowers]

[ vi's expression softens, reaching out to brush her fingers against his elbow. ]

I almost killed myself three days ago trying to use too much. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two.

[selfcombust]

[ his eyes drop to her hand, not bothered at all by the sudden contact, and then follow up the length of her arm to meet her gaze. he seems drawn back into the moment, out of his dark thoughts, enough to vocalize a simple command: ] Show me.

[graveflowers]

Gimme a second. [ closing her eyes, vi stretches out her senses to find any plants under what is probably permafrost or to find any nearby nature spirits, that can... lead her to some nature. (concentration 22) ]

[ dominik just watches her closely, glancing from side to side now and again to see if there's anything happening. there's indeed plenty of nature out there, all around - it's just frosty ]

[graveflowers]

[ vi breathes out a settled breath and then... it's fucking wildflower time. wildflowers everywhere. oh, new flowers, fancy russian flowers. FUCK U WINTER, SHE WILL NOT BE CONTAINED. flowers and grass and weeds, oh my. ]

[ as flowers start appearing up and over the side of the roof, growing over the ledge and across the stones, his eyebrows shoot straight up and he looks back at her ] ... That's all you?

[graveflowers]

[ eyes fluttering open, she stoops down to pluck a stalk next to her toes, cradling the tiny white flowers gingerly in her hands as they continue to bloom, releasing a sweet scent between them. ]

Snowflakes. [ vi offers a small shrug ] I told you Spring is my thing.

[ he reaches down to pluck one as well, with the hand that's not on fire, and considers it with a small smile on his lips, before reaching out to brush her hair aside just enough to place it behind her ear. he admires the effect for a moment before saying: ] Yes, it is.

[ a handful of more flowers burst over the edge of the ledge as a small smile plays across vi's expression. ]

So, Dominik Tsvetimir, what do you think of the insanity that we brought to your doors?

I think we were more than due for a change of pace. [ he extinguishes the fire, casting another look at the flowers ] You said you didn't want to stay out here. We don't have to.

[graveflowers]

I wish it wasn't so cold here, I like outside. [ by which she means she will begrudgingly go back inside because the other option is freezing to death. ]
