The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ she laughs, shaking her hips a bit, and throwing him another wink of her shoulder ] Yeah, I get that a lot.

[ they reach a door into the building, and fiona reaches forward to throw it open, peering inside with her perfect darkvision ] Ah ha! I was right. We found the garage.

[Thoster is gonna need a little light to be sure but he trusts her and is...probably watching her butt anyway.]

Lucky that I had you around. [He takes another drink ] Pick any of them. Wynn's got plenty. Which one looks the fastest?

[ she moves towards something sporty, not thinking to switch on a light for him. as she runs her hand along the side of the car, she seems to realize something. ] Wait, where do we get the keys? Are they just... inside the car? [ as she throws the door open to further investigate (p.s. the keys are not in the car) ]

Afraid I don't know about abou- fuck!

[He sure just slammed his shin into something. (Dex8)]

[ she gives him a funny look that he can't see anyway, before it dawns on her and she laughs. ] Gods, you should turn on a light before you break something! Or, you know what, let me get it for you. [ since she can find it much easier than he can.

she flicks it on, and her eyes are closed as the light envelops them as not to shock her system with the sudden bright. ] There, much better. And you know what? I have an idea.

[ she's just gonna make her way back to the car and see if inspiration strikes her on how to make this baby work without a set of keys. ]

[He leans against another car and rubs his shin while she works to get the light. By the time he can see her, he's laughing at himself for the blunder.]

Your ideas have done us better than mine so far. So please- by all means.

[ she climbs in the driver seat, and her body just seems to take over without much effort, yanking on this and that, exposing wires under the dash. By this point her backside is sticking out the door of the car, swaying with her movements. she leans back out for a moment, brushing some loose strands of hair from her face. ] You got a knife on you?

[Hello! Yeah thoster will just kick back and watch her...shake it, mostly. When she pops back up, he's found a spot to lean against and has his arms folded across his chest. He doesn't even try to hide what he was doing.]

Hm? Oh- yeah always. [He pulls a knife from his boot and flips it in his hand to hold the handle to her.]

[ she smirks, noticing the way he's staring, but she doesn't seem to mind. reaching for the knife when he extends it, she then ducks back inside the car and goes back to work (disable device 26). i don't know what it takes to hot-wire a car, but apparently fiona does, and the engine roars to life suddenly as she barks out a laugh ] Woo hoo!

[ she swings herself around so she's sitting properly in the driver seat, reaching for that bottle of liquor she had set on the ground beside her ] Jump on in!

[His face splits in a wide grin.]

Smart and beautiful. I could kiss you, you know. [And he might later. But for now he'll just move to take the passenger seat and close the door, still holding onto his own bottle of booze.]

I've got no real place in mind. Lets just see where the whim takes us, hm?

Works for me! I can't say I know much about this part of the world, though, so it'll definitely be an adventure.

[ and they're off! (drive 25) she controls this beast like a pro, even as she's messing with the radio station to find the good tunes. when she finds something she likes, she cranks the volume up, but not so loud that they can't talk over it, should they choose.

Are you hungry? I'm kinda hungry.

[He shakes his bottle of booze in her direction.]

All the meal a pirate needs, but I wouldn't say no if you wanted to stop for a bite.

Nah, I'll hit up a drive through or something, if need be. Let's just find us a pub! [ and she takes another swig from her bottle while they're still out in the country and away from heavy traffic police. oh yeah, there's probably gps equipped in all the vehicles, so she'll mess with that, too. apparently she's used to multi-tasking while driving.

the gps lights up with a digital map to the nearest pub, a woman's monotone voice directing them to their next turn. ]

[She's his little modern technology angel, tbh. Thoster just continues to drink and bobs his head to the music. He's likely about halfway through his bottle by the time they near the pub, but he's a pirate so he's got this apparently (fort save nat 20 good god). In the meantime, he'll make some conversation while they drive.]

So who'd they squire you to again?

Faith, Faith O'Keefe. I think you know her, right? We've been friends for... awhile, I guess. Before I came here, at least.

And you? You're not still a squire though, are you?

[bluffcheck]

No! You and Faith? There's a pair for the ages. Yeah- we're friendly. She's quite the girl.

[Give him a minute to take another drink before he gets to the next question.]

Full fledged knight, and quite proud of it, actually. Never would have dreamed this would be a life I could have ever found myself in, but truthfully? If not for missing my family, there's nothing about it that I would change.

Huh. [ she seems to consider that for a moment before speaking up again ] You have a big family back home?

Ohh, big enough, I suppose. Two younger brothers and a baby sister joined my crew when they were barely old enough to get their sea legs. [Even if he hasn't lied about anything tonight, this is the most genuine he's been. Thoster can't help but soften whenever he brings up his siblings.]

What about you? Any family you can remember?

One of the few things I do manage to remember, most of the time. I have an old half-sister, and a younger half-sister. I guess I'm closer to my older sister, since we grew up together, but the youngest, she's a lot younger than me. My mom, she's still around, too. And my dad, and step-dad.

[bluffcheck]

Seems you've got more family than I. [Another drink from the bottle as he flashes a smile, trying not to let the mood drop.] Never knew my father. And my mother died before I came through the Veil. My ship's named for her, actually.

What's her name?

Alice. And much like my mother was in life, my ship's as sturdy as they come and has seen me through the darkest times.

That seems... sweet, I guess. [ she's not the sentimental sort ] I was never really close with my mother. Or anyone, really.

Anyone? [He turns towards her a bit.] Y'said that you and Faith were friends. Don't consider yourself to be close with her, though?

She's awesome and fun, for sure. I mean, I care about her, I guess. I've just never met anyone I couldn't leave without saying goodbye, and never see again.

I don't really think of it as a bad thing. Helps me keep my independence. [ the gps speaks up again, and it seems to throw her off a bit ] Wait, where were we going again?
