And you dominated the police into dropping the charges?

I dominated the policeman to forget about my case. Also to grab a donut because he'd earned it. It didn't get that far. I was in holding because they couldn't confirm my identity being dead and in another world.

Which is how they knew you came through the Veil. The same thing happened to me—they couldn't confirm I was who I said I was, so they held me until the knights got there.

Dumage happened to be there. Right time, right place. Which is a rarity in my life.

I couldn't get eye contact in edge-wise. And they had my hands zip-tied together. I hadn't fed, the less you feed, the less strong you are - if that's... still true here. I should ask.

Yeah, about that. How do you even get bags of blood? Aren't those shipments closely monitored due to potential contamination?

[ A roll of the eyes, he doesn't even have to lie about this. ] It's not difficult to get my hands on a cooler. Intercepting one of those transfers, slipping into the blood bank - I'm used to it. [ NBD. #likeaboss ]

If I ever need a blood transfusion, just take me to a cleric instead. I didn't realize they were so lax about babysitting blood. [ seriously, yuck. stealing blood seems like nbd next to ... the alternative, which is attacking people. ]

A missing cooler here or there. The trick is never to take too much at once. [ Or, set some other poor soul up as the town vampire. RIP, Lexi. Damon downs the rest of his drink in one gulp letting it burn down his throat. ]

So, what's your story?

This may surprise you to hear, but I'm a teenager. I haven't had time to become a master criminal yet.

You'd be surprised how many teenagers have the capacity. [ He doesn't seem to flinch at her being a teenager. ] What's it like being whisked away from mom and dad?

Dad had already whisked himself away from my mom, anyway. [ His presence in his life was more irritating than parental. Her mother, on the other hand ... Lydia hunches her shoulders. ] I don't remember a whole lot about them.

Me neither. I know -- dad's dead. [ That's all he can recall. ] Seems like the veil picks and chooses what I'm allowed to remember. Things on the periphery of Stefan and Elena are touch and go. I feel ... resentment. Towards him. But, nothing specific, nothing that I know to be sure because that would be too easy and too helpful.

[ Like being able to get in touch with Elena. ]

On the bright side, chances that you'll ever see him again and have to come to a decision on how you feel are slim to none. [ It's impossible to read if that's sarcasm or something more genuine. ]
