[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

Myri, wait! [ but it's too late. the moment she steps into the room, a cold wind slams the door shut, trapping her inside. through the bars, they too can watch... as a strange wispy figure rises from the skeleton, pouring out of its mouth and taking shape, its facial features barely indistinguishable as they shift and blur beneath a hood of shadow. two flickering pinpoints of light glow where its eyes should be.

[ You do not fucking trap Myri in a room with a wraith by herself. Ever. Buffy is not having that.

Surging forward, she rips at the door with all of her strength (str 27), pulling it open (hopefully??) and if that works, she's stepping inside. She puts herself between Myri and the monster, taking a swing at it (atk 31, dmg 30). ]

[ buffy gets the door open, pulling it hard against the supernatural wind keeping it closed. but the moment she gets inside and releases it, it slams shut again.

buffy's axe actually connects with the creature, but ... appears to have no effect at all, passing through it easily. ]

[Spike grabs the door, cursing, and tries to yank it open again, but he's feeling pretty noodle armed today apparently (str 11). He curses and stares helplessly at the ghost menacing his girls. Not that he's sure he could be much help. He doubts his fists are any more useful than Buffy's spells.]

[Des swears. WHY DOESN'T ANYONE LISTEN TO HIM. SOMETIMES HE SAYS SMART THINGS. He shoves his way back to the front again.] Move!

[ des' attack goes right through the bars, and right through the wraith's head - but the wraith discorporates with dat 50% miss chance even against magic weapons :') and then comes back together instantly, the bullet striking the wall behind it. wheeeeee.

his turn. it moves forward, stretching out a bony hand to grip at buffy's wrist (atk 24), but she manages to pull away just in time. it gets close enough that she can feel the hideous chill starting to creep over her skin, the ache of death that strikes her as eerily familiar. it hisses at her in a strange, wispy half-voice: ]

[MYRIIII NOOOOOO. finnick tries to take a shot at the wraith, but he also ... tries to avoid hitting buffy. so his okay shot turns into a less okay shot. (atk 18 with action point; 6 dmg if it hits)]

Or is that just T.V.? Oh! [All his knowledge from pop culture of course - but 20 tells him he's pretty sure ghosties have some aversion to holy water, and pull out that potion thing they gave him earlier.]

that shit burns it up pretty effectively. :) archer manages the first damage to the thing yaaay.

mark yanks out his gun because he's pretty sure trying to pull the door open won't go well for him. but with the -4 his attack is a laughable 11. pwing. and his next one a ... 12. aces. ]

Don't let it touch you! [Myri shouts to Buffy, because her knowledge check lets her know that it's gonna be a bad time.] Only magical weapons can harm it.

[That seems like six seconds worth of helpful information, right? She can give everyone a full run down later if they really want it. What Myri does know is that regardless of who this once was, it isn't that person any longer. Which is good since Myri is the type to want to try to save a ghost or help it move on.

What she also knows is that her healing spells (which are damn near precious right now, considering how much magic she just dumped to heal people up) can also harm it. So she casts cure serious wounds. Melee touch attack 21, 24 dmg.]

Your Excaliburs! [ well. not mark's. but also mark's. ALL THE MAGIC EXCALIBURS. meanwhile gar will just be a badass over here (atk 28-4 for precise shot still hits!) and gar's shot actually connects with the ghost, producing a puff of dark smoke where it strikes (16 dmg!) ]

[ Oh hey. That's not a bad idea. And Buffy, for once, has that. She pulls away from the wraith's hand, dropping her axe and taking a 5-foot step back while drawing her gun as a move action. She takes a shot at the wraith with it because now it's definitely too late to … run away and hope it never saw them (atk 25, dmg 13 bc penetration). ]

Stay behind me! [ She demands it of Myri after she … goes forward to try to toUCH THE FUCKING MONSTER THAT SHE JUST TOLD BUFFY NOT TO TOUCH ?? ? ]

[Spike lets go of the door and draws his own gun. Thanks for letting them in on that trick, Gar, because I'm not sure he'd have made the connection on his own. He raises the gun and aims it (atk nat 20, dmg 7).]

the wraith tries to grab myri this time because she's right on top of it still (melee touch attack 24). its finger curl around her wrist, ice cold, and she'd feel herself weakening under its grasp... but she fights it off x( 6 negative energy damage at least. ]

Those guns seem to be about as effective as they look. Though, notably, still more useful than D's.

[Though the wraith does hurt her, feeling herself being able to fight off that draining feeling seems to bolster her to push forward and attack again with her magic. Ignoring Buffy's insistence to get behind her, and the fact that bullets are whizzing past her to try to hit the wraith, Myri twists her wrist to grab onto the wraith's wrist as well. She pushes another blast of healing energy at the creature (cure moderate, melee touch attack 26, damage 23).]

[ Moving to the door, Buffy reaches out to wrench it open and

crit fails her strength check. Her attempts to yank the door open actually tug at her shoulder and she staggers closer to it. ]
