[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of the first half of the month. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.

Also, following the promotion and squiring parties at the beginning of the month, Wynn will be taking any willing Knights back to Andres Isle to further reconstruction efforts there.   There's plenty to be done - and an election to gear up for, to find out who will rule Andres Isle!

Shut-up. [His playful sarcasm still earns him a light dig at his side, despite her smile. For a moment however, it's touch and go as to whether Rose even knows what that is, confusion touching her features until some little spark of memory makes the slow cogs start turning in her brain and it's pretty damn clear just from looking at her right now, this is not a conversation she's ever had to have before.]

Ohhh... no? It's never really been an issue. Two Dhampir can't... Ya know. Have kids. [Still can't roll a decent Wisdom Check to save her life though.]

Ohhh - [The penny doesn't drop so much as somebody upends a metaphorical bucket of them on top of her head and while Rose tries to catch herself, her feet falter, face dropping as she furiously tries to do some mental math. (WS 11).]

Ahhh - [She looks at Dean for a long moment, mind racing as she tries to count the weeks since the day they left for Andres but the last month or so just feels like a blur and she honestly has no idea how long it's been.

There's a part of her that knows she should tell him exactly what's going through her head right now, that if anyone has a right to know there's even the slimmest of possibilities, it's him but then she thinks about Sam, about everything he's been dealing with and the last thing she wants is to add to it, to be just one more reason to stress him out when the chances of it even being...

She forces a smile into place, shaking her head and reaches out to capture his hand, leaning in to brush her lips against his cheek in an effort to be reassuring. (WS 25 - Wis Nat 20 again. IDEK. Rose Wisdom.)]

Nothing - [(Bluff 26)] I just, need to change the way I think that's all. I have't exactly been with anyone outside of - [Letting silence fill the place where she would have said Dimitri's name.] And you.

Yeah, well, I didn't exactly write the book on steady relationships, either. [ he shoves his hands in his jacket pockets as they walk along, thoughtful. ]

[She cuts him a sideways glace, trying to push the rest of it back down until she even knows if there's something to be worried about or not.]

Never been much for books anyway. [Bad jokes are just bad.] Always preferred to make things up as I go. [Trying for a half smile.]

[She manages to keep the smile in place and while she’s trying, the act of even doing so is filling her head with a constant stream of concern and doubt, Rose skipping a dozen steps in her head as the reality of what one lapse in judgment could mean. She’s never had to think about this kind of thing before and now that there’s even the remotest possibility, it’s practically all she can think about and the answers she’s coming up with in the quagmire that is her head are not the kind that make faking it easier, the mask slipping again as Rose’s legs become heavier with every step.

And yet none of that is what makes her stop walking, letting out a huff of air as indecision plays across her features and she looks back to Dean, running a hand back through her hair as if to sweep her thoughts into some kind of order. She stops because it’s the thought that lying to him is a betrayal, that hiding things from him, no matter the reason, might only do more damage than good and whether he needs this or not, she has to believe that he at least needs to know there’s one person he can trust more than some valiantly stupid attempt to protect him. (Wis 18 – WS CF.)]

I might be – I mean, I could… [Gaping as she tries to find the words.] How long has it been since we… [Unable to even finish one whole sentence.] Responsible wasn’t really on either of our minds before we came to Andres.

[ with a wis check of 21, he immediately picks up what she's laying down, and stops, turning to face her, his expression becoming a mask of frozen shock, his brain racing too quickly for him to really process. ] You-- [ this is clearly the last thing he was expecting because apparently he doesn't know that sex makes babies despite

that whole ben ordeal. ] But I mean you haven't--

[ awkward starts and stops are us ] I mean, come on, what are the odds, right?

[Rose just kind of stands there as Dean catches up on the last minute or two that has been her overactive brain, hands burying deep in her pockets, like maybe she'll find the rest of her words hidden in there or something.]

I mean I feel - fine, so... It's, probably, nothing?

Probably. [ he repeats the word distantly, as if trying to wrap his head around the implications of that probably. ] But you haven't-- checked or anything.

Yeah I'm really all of... thirty seconds ahead of you in the whole, realizing that was something I - should do. [And while she's trying her best to not go into full on panic-mode? Her face right now isn't really portraying a picture of calm. (WS 12.)]

A+ at this.] It's nothing - it'll be nothing I'll just, get tested or whatever and then... invest in a lot of condoms. [The joke falling flat as she pulls a hand free from her pocket to run it over her face.]

She watches Dean for a long moment, weight shifting like she wants to close the distance between them but uncertainty flits across her features and she rocks back on her heels, exhaling a deep breath.]

Okay... So, what like, now? [No Rose why don't you just sit on this for another day?! I'm sure that won't cause a whole lot of stress.] I uh - Yeah I don't really know what the hell I'm doing right now and honestly just wish we could go back five minutes to the kissing and the part where I didn't know there was a chance I could be... [Well at least that wasn't a Crit Fail. (WS 11).]

[ hahaha his own face crumples slightly at her words because he ... did crit fail his will save. so no never mind that his voice is a little more gravelly when he tries to catch her attention, to keep her from falling into herself. ] Hey.

[ he moves forward, sliding a hand through the back of her hair, forcing her to focus on him. ] No matter what, it's nothing we can't handle. I mean, we're a couple of badasses right? What, are we scared of a friggin' baby? [ watch him turn his own crit fail into a stellar diplomacy roll of 27 and rip my heartstrings out. he gives her an emotional little smile and adds: ] I mean, the kid would be gorgeous at least, so we got that going for us.

[His voice cuts through her escalating stream of panic as all she can think is that she can’t do this, that she’d stand a better chance at facing down all nine archdevils than she would at handling this because she doesn’t know how. That one word is enough to halt her runaway mind though and before it can start up again he’s right in front of her, holding her gaze in his and filling her head with words of his own.

Of everything he says, it’s one repeated word that lodges in her chest and starts to pull her back from the edge; We. Not you, not some pep talk to tell her that she can handle this but we, Rose pulling in a slow, steady breath and releasing some of the tension in her body as she exhales. (Will Save 16).

A weak smile tugs at the corner of her mouth and she leans into him, chasing the reassuring warmth of his body, a hand coming to rest on his side as the cogs in her head finally slow down.]

Unfairly attractive. [Lips twitching.] Plus ya know, an extreme badass in the making. [It's still weak on her part but she’s trying and while she knows it’s still unlikely, she silently promises herself right now that if she is? She won’t be like Janine. She might not know the first thing about being a parent but she’ll be there and that’s a hell of a lot more than she had growing up.]

We can handle it. [A little bob of her head and it almost sounds like she’s starting to believe that.] Guess we should, find out what it is we’re handling then, huh.

[ his other hand slides around her back, holding her steadily against himself until he sees some of the fear fade out of her eyes. at that point, he tilts her chin up enough to give her a brief, but warm kiss, before slipping his arm fully around her waist and drawing her back up the sidewalk with him. ] No time like the present.

[She lets him anchor her, trying to keep her mind from racing, counting steps in her head just to offer her brain a distraction as she allows Dean to do the leading for a change.] Tell me something? Anything, just...
