[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. You can also specify 'single thread', meaning you want only one response for all participants, rather than multi-thread, where a number of different scenes/threads can be done as replies to the top prompt.]

[receptionist]

[insert name plaque that says: CRISTAL]

[receptionist]

[Be surprised that she's shown up. Though, anyone is welcome to try and fill her duties. She'd be SHOCKED if anyone can do what she does, I mean, have you seen what she does all day?? It's very taxing. Very stressful. Very work. Much busy.

Okay, maybe she's just lounging on the counter of the desk... reading a magazine.]

[hacker]

So you've worked here a while, huh?

[ Skye gave a nod, throwing one arm over the reception desk and leaning into it to look casual. Her arm started to slide out from under her, but she caught herself before she fell, clearing her throat and straightening her back. ]

That's, uh. [ She straightened the clipboard on the front desk. ] That's ... cool.

[receptionist]

[Cheryl looks up and is surprised to see that someone is there. It's possible that she had sort of zoned out. She sits up straighter and shrugs.]

Oh, it just feels like a long time. You're new, right? Kill anyone yet?

[hacker]

I— What? [ Sharply, super uncomfortable. ] No. What is that, some creepy Knightly initiation? I thought we were supposed to be saving people, not killing them.

[receptionist]

Uhhhh, how do you expect to save people?? I mean, if they need saving there's going to be someone they need saving from!

Pop! Pop! [She gestures with her hand to make a gun firing movement.]

It's probably like that on all the missions.

[She has a moment of pause.]

Ooooh... or if someone on your team has really bad aim. Do you have bad aim?

[hacker]

I've really never had to find out.

[ And she sounds DEEPLY DISTURBED BY THAT INSINUATION. ]

I was kind of thinking that they'd try a non-shooting approach first. Like talking people down.

[receptionist]

Well, you're still new. I'd go to the shooting range, either way. Get that bad aim verdict out of the way.

[Her head cants as she contemplates something, which Skye might assume would be that posed question about a non-shooting approach, but it is definitely not that.]

Which one of the knights do you think has the biggest hands? [She seems dead serious about this.]

[hacker]

The biggest ... [ Brow furrowed, Skye pauses like what is this girl on. ] Why?

[receptionist]

It's just ... [Her hands go to gesture, once again, though this time she makes a circle with her hands. It's very much a choking gesture.] I was just trying to make some future plans.

[She smiles, brightly - scary perky, and looks up to Skye as if she wasn't just trying to figure out who could choke her the easiest/best.]

Did you need something?

[doubletake]

[She seems to be in a bit of a hurry as she leans against the counter, looking at her with expectantly raised eyebrows.]

I need to sign out for a car.

[receptionist]

[Cheryl puts down her magazine and sighs dramatically.]

Ughhhh... fiiiine. [She'll pull out the log and scrolls the list of available vehicles.]

What kind of vehicle are you looking for? [She eyes her.]

Mini-van?

[doubletake]

I think a mini-van would be a little much for just me, don't you?

[Don't get irritated. Don't get irritated.]

I don't care what it is, so long as it isn't massive, slow, or broken.

[receptionist]

[She rolls her eyes.]

I don't judge!! You could have twelve kids for all I know. [She eyes her a bit more carefully this time.] Ten kids.

[Sighing, she glances down the list again. So ungrateful.] You might have even had a large item to pick-up -- I don't know these things! I'm not a mind-reader!!

[Back to the list... la la la...]

[She blinks a few times like, um.....

...she does not look old enough to have ten kids get out. :|]

Nope. Just me.

[Breathe in, breathe out.]

Automatic. Please.

[receptionist]

Auto-matic... [She's scrolling down and glancing at her row of keys, shaking her head. Someone didn't mark something down. She's going to have to take a note for that...]

Color preference?

[doubletake]

[She clears her throat, foot tapping against the floor.]

No?

[receptionist]

Okay...

[Flips a few pages, glancing at her list and she reaches for keys ----- but nope. That's for someone else.

She glances to Elena once more, then moves her hands to the set next to them and she picks them and slides them over.]

Here you go.

[ambitionist]

[one day, alex shows up at the front desk looking vaguely distressed.] Did anyone bring a phone up here?

[receptionist]

[Cheryl is half listening. She's currently Googling 'what do I do if a ginger kid bit me?' when he approaches the desk. She seems very invested in the answer to this, because first there was just one baby but now everyone is getting pregnant and it's gross to think there's going to be all those vicious creatures being spawned!!!

Finally, when she realizes that it's definitely something she needs to print out and highlight, she turns her attention to.....

Alex. As in 'ALEX :)' from her notes with Skye. He's sort of... tall. Has almost that fireman vibe going for him, but he doesn't seem like the fireman type.]

A phone? Let me check. [She'll feel around her desk, but she's mostly looking at him. Ha ha. Not a very thorough check going on here.]

It must feel very suffocating to be without something you need.

Definitely. I've got all sorts of shit on that phone. I mean, it's locked and has the fingerprint lock thing too and whatever, but still. Are you even — [he's not satisfied with her unthorough searching and walks around to her side to help look for it . :| but with a search crit fail he's not getting anywhere fast...]

[receptionist]

[Okay, so he gets points for being so forward! He seems like he's willing to break rules to get what he wants. Good, good.

She'll open a drawer touch a few things and then close it. Cheryl smiles at him.]

I don't remember anyone dropping it off...

[She wheels over to another set of cabinets and opens drawers and does a more thorough search. Slightly. Her search 16 might help... if someone actually turned it in.]

[ambitionist]

[it's not there anyway, so. yay :'( ] Shit. Well, I guess you can email me or something if someone brings it up, okay? [he writes his email address and name on a post-it on the desk. you know ... alex karamazov. the "ALEX :)"]

[receptionist]

[Oh, she knows. She knows a lot and she actually stills to look at his hand as he grips the pen to write his email address down.]

Have you ever gotten a manicure? [They are for men too. She wheels back over to him.]

Uh, a few times, a long time ago. My big sister was in beauty school for awhile, basically used to torture me and my sisters for practice. Why ...?
