[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. [Malina follows the sound of Redbone to the bowling alley, and she smirks a bit. Say what you want, but most of the songs he's got on that cassette tape are classics, and she would be lying if she said she wasn't a fan.]

Thinking about expanding your collection now that you're going to be stuck here for a while?

Seems like I've got my share of catching up to do. I mean, for years, I've had all of just the one tape. You wouldn't believe how much music is actually out there.

Oh, I can believe it. And they just keep adding more and more every day. I'd introduce you to YouTube, but you may never be seen again.

Someone really needs to compile me a 'best of the last twenty years' mix.

I will try and work on that for you. All else fails, I'll just throw music at you until something sticks.

Do I need some credentials to confirm you've got reliable taste?

[She raises her eyebrows at that.]

I didn't realize that's the kind of thing you needed documented.

Hey, I take this stuff very seriously.

Alright, alright, how about you see my taste in action for yourself?

[She tips her head to the boombox.]

What kind of artists you got on that tape?

[starprince]

This one? [ he pats his walkman ] Just the greats. Bowie, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye...

[bredinthebone]

Okay, Bowie.

[she pages through her phone for a moment, bringing up the music player and flipping through the songs there.]

I will see your David Bowie, and in the theme of awesome British rockstars, I will raise you Queen.

[And with that a song will start to play. She knows that Queen was around before he left Earth, but at least she can gauge if she likes Bowie because of his sound or because he sings about space a lot.]

[ he takes a second to start listening before he starts dancing along, getting really into it ] Now this is what I'm talking about.

[She grins a bit, before moving to let her phone rest on top of the ball changer so that her hand isn't blocking the speakers.]

They're one of my favorites too. Consistent, identifiable sound with just the right amount of variety and splash to make things interesting.

Are they still together? You won't believe how long I've been dreaming of hitting an Earth concert some day.

[Her face drops a bit because sadly, no. Queen is not together anymore, at least not the way they were in their prime. But she will reach for her phone to search and see if David Bowie is still touring.]

They are not, but Bowie might be. Give me a sec to google.

Is that something you should be doing in public? [ he glances over his shoulder ] I mean, I'm not complaining, but--

[She snorts at that, before, turning her phone to face him where her search terms are half typed in.]

Google is a search engine. It's how you find information on the internet, and it's so popular, we turned it into a verb.

[starprince]

They've got a word for that in space too, but humans can't really pronounce it.

[She glances up curiously, tipping her head to the side.]

Do we not have the vocal chords for it or something?

[starprince]

Or the mandibles.

[bredinthebone]

[She makes a slight face at that, before frowning at her phone.]

Damn. Bowie stopped touring a few years back.

[starprince]

It was worth a shot. Maybe he'll do a comeback special.

[bredinthebone]

You never know. I'm pretty sure Mick Jagger isn't going to stop touring until he dies in a terrible mosh pit accident.

I'll make sure to put some kind of concert on top of my priorities list.

[She nods.]
