[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

I don't know when the last time I really counted was. A couple years? Three years? I worked in the Ireland branch before my mom and I transferred here.

Ireland branch, huh? [ Skye nodded. ] Nice. But the satellite bases aren't as big as this one, right? That's what Wynn said. Is it a big change, getting used to the castle?

Not really. I sort of grew up in one.

[hacker]

You did? [ Beat. ] One owned by the Knights? You said your mom was one too ... was she before you were born?

[moonheart]

Nooo, it was passed down through my family. My dad's family. They're sort of an... ancient order of guardians, for descendants of the Unicorn Goddess.

My mom's worked with the Knights for most of my life. When she moved to Ireland to be with my Dad, she decided to leave law enforcement behind. She's more of a diplomat now - trying to settle disputes between different Shadow groups, or humans and Shadowkind.

So you're some kind of crazy, goddess-guardian nobility, and you're kicking around here as a knight? Don't get me wrong, sounds like we're lucky to have you, I just ... Why? Just because of the legacy?

[moonheart]

Well, my family sort of had this destiny, to stop this evil tiefling in New York a long time ago. And they did! But now they've sort of like, earned the right to do whatever they want.

[hacker]

Destiny, huh? That all sounds a little King Arthur to me.

[moonheart]

You have looked around, right?

[hacker]

[ she laughs it off. ] Yeah, Wynn's aesthetic does make it seem like he buys into all that stuff.

[moonheart]

Considering King Arthur like showed up on the doorstep, I'm pretty sure everyone around here believes in it.

What, like his corpse?

What? Ew, no. Real guy.

[hacker]

... Yeah, no, pretty sure that stuff was all written in the Dark Ages. Even if he did exist—which, last I checked, was still up for debate—there's no way he'd still be alive now.

It's some weird Veil nonsense or other. Like he's from a universe that's lagging behind us or something.

... Time travel. The theory you're going with is Veil time travel?

[moonheart]

Actually that's the theory Wynn and all his scientists are going with and they're a lot smarter about this stuff than I am, so... yeah.

Which scientists? I'd love to get the chance to talk to one of them.
