[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

It depends on if they are looking for good people, or people who are loyal and useful.

Well, I don't think Malina would have kept me for loyalty. I'm not sure she's even convinced I won't go running back to the Rising Tide any minute. She seemed pretty spooked in Mexico.

Loyalty is one of the most valued virtues a person can possess. [he gave her a confused look] Rising Tide?

We're a hacker group. Freedom of information, exposing government conspiracies.

I don't know if weapon's the right word. [ She looks uneasy with the violent implications therein. ] More like tool. Or life raft.

Do you use it to attack others and make sure that they are unable to hurt those they are hurting?

In a way, I guess.

Then it is a weapon, one of the modern age. [he gave her a small smile] But not all weapons are bad. It is the way that they are used that matters. A paperclip can be a weapon for those who know how to use it.

Is that your specialty? The MacGyver paperclip approach?

Perhaps. [there is a knowing grin] I am full of surprises.

Keeping your cards close, huh? Kinda redundant in a secret organization.

When it is a life you've lived for as long as I have, it is done the same as if I am breathing.

Wait. As long as you have, what does that mean? How long have you lived?

Only 27 years. But it feels longer in many ways.

You buy into all that hippie dippie old soul stuff?

I grew up in a war zone, my dear. It is a different kind of old.

Point taken. [ She nods, squaring her shoulders and straightening her back. Ouch. ] Sorry. I didn't mean to push.

True. But ... some questions like that might stab a little deeper than others.
