[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

And what happens to those that do not go on to Wynn?

They sit on hold. For a very long time. Or they get otherwise diverted. But those usually aren't people with problems, they're more solicitors and things like that.

Ah yes, phone solicitors. One step below a pirate in the scheme of the social order I have heard.

[She nods in agreement.]

One step under pirate, one step over sleazebag ambulance chasers who take advantage of people's pain.

Ambulance Chaser? [he's not familiar with that term]

A lawyer, who makes all of their money by tracking down accident victims when they're in the hospital and convincing them they need to file frivolous law suits. Basically they take unfair advantage of other people's pain.

[he just thought a moment, then nodded]

Then yes, I agree. These ambulance chasers are at the bottom.

[She nods once in agreement.]

But that's why we join up here, isn't it? To fight the forces of evil?

[There she's mostly kidding. They do not chase ambulance chasers. They fight actual bad guys.]

That is what you have told me, yes. Though that was not the kind of evil I was hoping to fight.

[She laughs.]

So you're gunning for the despots and the dictators, huh?

Terrorists and slavers, actually. But they can wear the same faces.

[She nods.]

We get those too. Though we also get the less human faces as well. Bad guys come in all shapes and sizes.

As I've been learning. [he sighed, his fingers going to play along the desk a moment] I still have much to learn though, yes?

[She nods in agreement.]

Which is fine. Because you're brand new. And you still have time to figure things out.

So what will happen to me next, after I am squired in?

You'll get a mentor, who will help train you and answer any questions you have. Then Wynn will send you on a mission or two, and see how you handle being in the field, as well as to give you a better idea of what exactly it is we do.

Then when your mentor feels you're ready, he'll promote you to a sect.

[he just nodded, taking that all in]

And what happens to those who are never ready?

[She gives a small shrug.]

They go back to the world, I guess? I've never met anyone who didn't follow through.

At least that puts the odds in my favor then. Since you have met me and all.

I shall endeavor not to. [he stood back up, looking down the hall] I should continue my explorations. I'm sure you are eager to return to your book.
