[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

If it helps, that was just a ruse to convince the people who hate Shadowkind that Blade was on their side.

I don't think it's called a ruse anymore if thousands of people die. That's just hating Shadowkind.

Actually with him, it's more about not caring about the collateral, I think.

Is that "actually" supposed to make it better or worse? Because it sounds like this guy is in serious need of being taken out. How do people not know about this? Wouldn't it be better to just spread the word, get the truth to as many people as fast as possible?

Mostly? Because no one's going to believe it. Magic on the scale of what we're talking about ... that just doesn't exist. It's power coming from a god that most of the people of this world think can't even be real. Gods who usually don't have that kind of influence in this world. He needs to go, but even if we could talk governments into backing that play, they're gonna wanna run that show themselves, and it's going to just get more people killed. They don't comprehend what we're up against.

Not wanting to hand over the reins sounds like a lame reason to deny a boatload of help. [ This is her struggle with secrecy. This moment. ]

It's not a pride or control thing. [ well now kat is offended, must be tuesday ] Like Fred said, most of them won't even believe it, and those who do? There are people in every government out there who will use this as the perfect example of how dangerous Shadowkind are, or decide this is a reason to round up psions into concentration camps. They're just waiting for something like this.

Yeah, well, you're right about one thing. No one's gotta worry about getting rounded up if we're all brianwashed to death.

The suicides were what the Shadow-hating cult wanted. What Blade actually wants is to unleash his evil god of a father on our world.

I thought that wasn't possible, gods crossing to this plane.

It's not supposed to be, which is one reason most people would think we're full of shit. In fact, I mean, maybe it isn't, and they're just deluding themselves, which would be A-OK in my book, but we've gotta err on the side of maybe the crazies aren't all crazy.

How are they planning on doing it? I mean, if they have found a way, do you think they're the only ones? Who else might be trying?

It's a kind of unique situation, with a god who was sealed up onto his own plane by some magic ritual, and the seal happened to end up here. I doubt that's really something we're gonna see happen again anytime soon.
