[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Well, yeah, that's an understood. I'm not running around with Keijen Blade's band of merry assholes and I have this lovely shield. [ the shield that appears in her hand as she summons it, silver with golden leaves etched around the edge and a delicate white and rose gold flower emblazoned in the center. it's a narcissus. ] This would look so bad with those black robes and their early nineties goth aesthetic.

[ Skye sits up straighter. ]

Shiny. Where'd you find that?

I dunno, I just made it one day. [ she shrugs, twirling it slowly in her hands. ] Solace says it's just another extension of my magic. Which makes sense, the flower is one of my mother's.

I didn't even know that could happen. The whole magic thing's not really my wheelhouse unless we're talking dementors and Diagon Alley. [ But she looks impressed. ]

I've always had magic, as long as I can remember, as least, but this is new to me, too. I wear from flowers to healing to this cool shield. [ which fades from existence in the middle of her sentence. ] Which I can't keep up very long, yet.

[ skye's sunny disposition is super appreciated, vi smiling sheepishly. ]

Haven't gotten to use it yet, for obvious reasons. [ and because she uses a bow 99% of the time. ] So hopefully it'll last longer when I actually need it.

Well, they say practice makes better, so there's only one way to find out.

Wish really, really hard? [ all the training of the entire roman legion and vi is still like "but i don't wanna practice!!!" ]

I'm not sure I'd count too much on that one.

Around here... they're not always an exaggeration. King Arthur, Excalibur, dragons. We have our own Holy Grail quest.

Wait. The Holy Grail is real too?

It might be? I meant less literally. We have an immortality talisman we're chasing. Seems pretty Jesus like, all that Lazarus stuff.

[ She nods, accepting this. ]

Kinda underwhelming, compared to the Holy Grail, but I get your point.

I mean, it's legit the same thing, isn't it? Cup that provides eternal youth, talisman that gives immortality.

The Arthurian name still means something, in my book.

It's how Wynn snags people, I swear. People hear knights and just get all giddy.

Hey, branding works. If he'd just start passing out keychains, he might be really be onto something.

Oh, I would love a keychain. A little silver dragon and when you squeeze it's belly it shoots knockout gas. You know, just in case.
