[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

This. [He gestures to the lab.] Quiet. Focused. Not saying her way is bad. Just different.

Is that pretty common in the Hoard? Most people I've met so far aren't very ... reserved.

[badexample]

Maybe. I mean- I don't want to speak for everyone. People think we're a bunch of nerds and I guess that makes us less... chatty or whatever. [He bristles a little. It's a sore spot for him.]

You say that like it's a wrong impression. Are you not a bunch of nerds?

[badexample]

Not all of us. [He says sort of grumbly, even though he totally considers himself a nerd. He just hates being called one before people even know him.]

There's all types. Bookish. Tech. Weapon mods. I mean it's not just any one thing.

[hacker]

Isn't that just different types of nerds?

[badexample]

Well, I mean... [He huffs a small laugh.] Shut up. Yeah, I guess it is. I just hate people who think we only do one thing. Doesn't matter what that thing even is. But if you see the lab in our wing it's like... I mean, we're fucking busy.

[hacker]

No kidding. Honestly, broad as the definition is, I'm surprised there aren't Hoard members. You guys have to be pulling, like, all the weight, right?

Basically. [Finally! Someone who gets it.]

But the Hide tends to get most of the credit. All hack and slash and whatnot.

Mmm. I'm sensing some inter-sect rivalry going on here.

[badexample]

[He gives a little shrug.]

Maybe. [More like sibling rivalry. And mostly on Andrew's end. Go go gadget self esteem issues.] It's just frustrating, you know?

What, not getting credit? And here I figured people would find that fun.

How is that in any way fun?

[hacker]

It was — [ She deflates a bit at having to explain, scratching the side of her head. ] ... A ... joke. You know, forget it.

Oh. [He looks instantly sheepish.] No, sorry. I'm just-- It's sort of something I'm not used to many people... getting.

[hacker]

Really? But there's— [ She waves around at the wing. ] All this.

Yeah, but not many people really care about it. You hear knights and you think of beefy blokes with swords, not me hacking into an evil corporation to steal records. Everyone wants to be a hero, but they usually want to do it the way that involves smashing shit.

You know, that Felicity chick said the same thing. Hacking records. Is that all they set hackers up with around here?

There's no 'all' anything around here. On my last mission, I helped take down a super computer with magic wielding killer robots. Sometimes I hang back and do more surveillance related shit- relaying it to teams on the ground. It's just whatever the mission calls for, y'know?
