[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Good. I'm not bad at sharing, but I would like to keep the dating thing to just me and you.

[he gives a little chuckle.] That shouldn't be a problem.

Good. [ she gives him a kiss for being ...will. ] Want to see what I got myself for my birthday?

[ sliding off the bed, she retrieves her chain from her trunk of random handcuffs and screwdrivers and the like and heads to the far side of the room, holding a hand up so the puppies stay with will.

holding her hand out, the chain unfurls and when alice gives it a sharp flick, electricity crackles up and down the entire length of it, making the hair on her arms stand on end.

meanwhile, she is grinning gleefully like LOOK AT MY CHAIN TASER. CHASER... no, that won't work. ]

What is that?

Magic. I can't actually do it myself, but I had the Dragon's Fire enchant it for me. [ she's so cheerful about it. ] I'm really sick of thinking I'm about to die on every mission I go on and this is pretty much like a taser with more reach.

[ therefore non-lethal. (although it is pretty lethal.) she gives it another shake and the electricity stops, leaving just the chain she starts winding up around her hand. ]

I can understand that. With the repetition comes experience, though, you know. You get better at not dying.

I do have a 100% survival rate. It's just.. I had to tase some guy in New York and the whole time all I could think was "what if he shoots me in the face?" I'm pretty sure people don't just walk away from that. [ her free hand rubs against her arm before she drops the spooled chain back in the trunk. ] I thought I was getting over it but it turns out I'm not.

People have walked away from that before. It's possible to get shot in the head and live. [oh wait he probably should have focused on the other thing.] Do you need ... to talk about it?

...Seriously? Uh, to the first part, not the second. [ she drops back on the bed, patting it so some of the dogs will come back and give her kisses. ]

Mm, yeah. It depends on a lot of variables ... how the bullet entered the brain, whether it exited the brain or not, if it was a high or low velocity bullet. If it only goes through one hemisphere, exits cleanly, and misses the high real estate areas, your chances of survival are pretty high. If you get the right medical care afterwards. [yes more dogs come for kisses. dogpalooza tbh.]

That's actually strangely comforting. And kind of hot, tell me more Dr. Graham.

[ serenade her with weird medical facts about murder and stuff. she, at least, grew up in a world where clerics are a thing so she knows full well that sometimes the best medical care is magic. it could very well cure her diabetes, but that's something she can live with, she hasn't found a reason to seek out a cleric for that yet.
