[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

Oh! Oh, yeah, no I can't really help that. Awesome god given superpowers, debilitating seasonal depression, everything is a trade off.

That seems a particularly trying one. You've come to terms with it, then?

In spring, yes. Once winter hits I'll be less self-aware and sane. [ and she won't have luthir this time to keep her safe either. which she seems to remember suddenly like a punch to the gut, eyes drifting down to her hands. ] I feel fine now, so it feels like I'll be fine and I can handle everything and anything and I understand hope and faith, I can persevere and survive, but then winter hits and... it's like I'm a balloon that's been popped and no amount of tape and glue can keep it together and even if they could, there is nothing to fill it up again.

And you've found nothing that offers relief?

[graveflowers]

Flowers. Luthir made it easier, I felt anchored here. For most of winter I just exist in a state of spite. I don't want to give in because it feels like losing, but it's just exhausting. [ she shrugs, falling back on her defense mechanism of trying to backtrack over telling it like it is and making it seem less difficult. ] I've survived this long, so I figure the spite thing is working, I just gotta... keep duct tape handy. Keep fixing myself when I break.

Keep loved ones close to you. [ he nods towards her stomach ] Perhaps the gods have sent you a new anchor.

[ understanding touches the small smile that lifts her lips. she would have liked to keep the old anchor, but luthir fought so hard for lucia, the same way he fought for vi. she can't deny that lucia is as much an anchor to vi's humanity as she is to luthir's memory. ]

They've sent me new loved ones, too.

[ lmao he totally misses that ] A small comfort, then, to know we are not forsaken.

Well, as I feel like I've been told from a young age, good things do come in small packages.

It always seems to make me feel a little bit better. Small steps are still steps.

And we seem to be stepping in the right direction, at least.

[ she nods with a sigh, not unhappy, a little smile pushing some of the melancholy away. ]

I should get back upstairs and eat.

Anytime. [ she pushes to her feet, leaning over to kiss his cheek before she goes. ] I'll expect you up there once she's born.

If we can arrange to do so without drawing much attention, then of course. [ it's clear that he hopes for that at least, and he gives her a warm look as she turns to go ]
