The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.  

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[ and with that, the door opens up and dumage storms out in a huff ]

[Elena just sort of....looks over at her as she bursts back out into the hallway. Her expression is schooled into something very neutral; she's not exactly interested in antagonizing the woman any further after that, and Elena's pretty sure any show of emotion or interest in that conversation is going to cause a negative reaction.

She'll just stand here, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed over her chest and give Dumage a second to calm down.]

[ she seems too harried to even think of asking whether elena heard any of that, but she composes herself almost instantly, looking down the hall before she looks back at her. ] Well? Did you learn anything?

[doubletake]

[Elena looks back down the hall as well, as if to assure herself that no one is going to round the corner before she speaks quickly and quietly.]

That man was the one responsible for Sarandis acquiring the massive weapons that he used against the institute. He's very aware of what the man is capable of, was convinced your sister was unaware of any of it, but didn't seem to think it would be very long before she found out.

[She's quiet for the briefest moment before she continues.]

Bonquas dragged him off, probably to keep him from continuing to run his mouth. She showed 'concern' about Blade being unaware that you might have brought a date, and wished me luck as they left.

I'm not worried about Blade. [ as for the rest, she just shakes her head ] That's all?

[doubletake]

[That makes one of them.]

Sarandis isn't very happy with the guy, not to mention he's apparently flat broke. Given what happened though, none of that is particularly surprising.

[She didn't catch the guy's name, whoops, but at least she never forgets a face.]

He wouldn't happen to have proof of that on him, would he? Bank statements, perhaps? [ it's clearly a bitter joke, as she glances back at the door, apparently convinced that there's no talking amanda around rn at least ] We should get inside.

[Elena only has time to nod before the phone in her pocket vibrates. She continues to walk slowly down the hall as she reads the text, lips pursing briefly as if she just tasted something sour.]

Wonderful.

What now?

[Elena just passes her the phone because that's silent and, therefore, safer. She doesn't want to audibly drop names any more than necessary.]

It's nothing I didn't think might happen but...

All the more reason to get a move on. Come on. [ her heels click across the floor as she heads back out to the lobby, where almost everyone is now being ushered into the chapel to be seated. ]

[She nods, resuming her role of oblivious plus one, a hand placed barely against the small of her back as she escorts Dumage through the room, following directions so they can be seated, but her senses are sharp as they make their way (spot & listen 35).]

[ guess what, they're gonna have to go sit by robin and jacques, what a good time...

elena doesn't recognize any other faces as they're making their way down the aisle, which is kind of a relief. they pass by valentin, who is sitting close to them, and she overhears him speaking to someone beside him: ] Yes, I have had occasion to see his lovely bride once before. Quite enchanting, really. It makes me think about settling down myself, these sort of things. It can be such a solitary life, leading the populace...

Whatever, at least soon it'll be impolite to talk and then they won't have to actually keep conversing with them.

Elena keeps her gaze elsewhere, even as she continues to listen to Valentin sitting nearby while they wait for the ceremony to start.]

[princesmarming]

[ "But is there a woman in your life, your Highness, that you are thinking about settling down with?" asks the other. ]

Alas, not at the moment, no. But you never know when the right woman is about to turn up, no?

[ robin leans over to dumage, a kleenex clutched in her hand at the ready, and brushes her arm with her hand.

"You know, your sister didn't even ask Jacques if he would walk her down the aisle? I hope that if you ever tie the knot, dear, you'll consider it."

dumage tenses again, her lips pressed tightly together as she only half smiles, clearly unenthused about the idea. "He's only ever wanted the best for either of you girls." ]

[Time is not moving quickly enough. Everything about this is torture.

Seriously, if both of your kids won't ask you, the problem is probably not them.

Elena can't keep her tongue this time, leaning forward a bit to say:]

I would think what's best for her is her call, don't you?

[ robin seems ready to let her have that but dumage's will save is terrible over here and she snaps: ] Yes, well, it's not as if he's actually our father. In any way. [ and then they get to hear rose in their ears ]

[oh for the love of...this is more drama than she ever wanted.

Gonna just ignore the fuck out of this now tyvm. That awkward moment when Sarandis showing up is wanted because then at least the show will be on a roll.

At least Crombe isn't here. Small favors, even if that means no chance of info gathering there. It's probably better to be able to focus on their singular task anyway.]

[ jacques snorts. "Ungrateful as she ever was. I can't believe you wanted to see this one again." ]

Maybe if you'd given us anything to be grateful for, things would be entirely different.

[oh good, elena crit failed her will save.

She leans over, looking Jacques right in the eyes, her expression dangerous as she speaks low enough that hopefully only the few of them can hear it (intimidate nat 20).]

If I hear the sound of your voice speak one more vile thing, I will make very sure that you regret it.

[WHO THE FUCK SAYS THAT TO A MOTHER ABOUT THEIR CHILD GET OUT.

Still, with that done, her expression returns to pleasant and calm. She even smiles.]

Today is about Amanda, yes? How about we all just enjoy the ceremony for her sake.

[Not that that...is probably gonna happen all things considered but she is...so over this bullshit. What a dickhead.]

[ not only does jacques turn pale, but robin puts a hand to her mouth, eyes widening as she stares at him and then directs her attention forward, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

for her own part, a spark of amusement flashes in dumage's eyes, and she barely conceals a smirk as she glances at elena, and then folds her legs, directing her attention to where the ceremony finally seems to be getting started, just in time... looks like decker himself is dimitris' best man. ]

[Elena meets Dumage's gaze, her own eyes mirroring the other woman's, before she leans back in her chair to watch the ceremony begin.

A small whisper of anxiety starts to curl in her stomach. It shouldn't be too long now before things either go off without a hitch or things get hectic. She's less focused on Decker, and more on catching a glimpse of the target himself.]

[ ♬ wedding march - the royal philharmonic orchestra

a pretentious sounding orchestral number heralds the procession, and dimitris appears in a black outfit with a military cut, gold cords and tassels giving it distinctly royal flair, not to mention the number of presumably undeserved medals hanging off from it. he cuts an impressive looking figure (disguise 32) and he makes the walk with all the dignity and grace of someone who hasn't had all the former ripped out from under him (nat 20 dex). he keeps his gaze mostly forward, and doesn't seem to spare elena's row so much as a second look, taking his place at the front of the room with decker beside him, and turning to face the doors, a smugly satisfied look on his face as he watches with anticipation for his bride-to-be to appear. ]

Ah, good, it's starting. Here's our groom.

[Pleasant, quiet commentary, but it's not for the benefit of Dumage, but for the people on the other end of her earpiece, which she activated for a moment to indicate that she's got eyes on him (sleight of hand 35).]
