In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[ lila pulls a similar one from her pocket letting it dangle from her pinkie as she puts her hand back on the wheel. hers is pink as is her way to keep people from touching her shit unless she wants them to. ] Perfect. Take mine, too.

[ she will grab it and hand the pink one to stiles because she assumes he didn't pack his baseball bat in the trunk ... ]

[That... doesn't look like a mace. But Jaime got a knowledge check of 16, so at least he has figured out that they haven't actually fit a tiny mace into a can. It's a chemical that burns eyes.]

Can you use your mind powers to let me skip the metal detector? I could have brought a mace as well, but mine wouldn't have been much more convenient than the sword.

Before we split, I can make it so that we're all able to communicate with one another for about an hour or so. It's faster than a cell phone, and if we end up finding anything it'll make it that much easier to keep everyone in the loop.

[Assuming you assholes aren't going to pussy out at the idea of having him inside your heads. Since that seems to put a lot of people off before he even tries, but he doesn't really give a shit. He can't help it that he was born better than everyone else.]

It's sort of like a conference call in our heads. You won't be able read each other's minds or anything like that. [because he knows by now that is everyone's biggest hang up when it comes to psionics.] More like, whatever one of us thinks "out loud," the rest of the group will be able to hear. If something happens to one of us, the rest of us will be able to know about it without drawing any attention or having to reach for a cell phone.

[ she has more questions—can they turn it off, or do they have to wait until he does it or until it wears off? has he already been reading their minds? is it fair that lila gets to opt out just because she's in the other group when it's supposed to be meant to connect all of them together like a web?

all of them seem impossible to ask in the face of stiles' resounding agreement—they would no longer be clarifying questions, but rather nitpicky hesitation. she quiets momentarily, turning to look out the window. it's impossible not to think of peter hale and how he'd invaded her mind, but this is different: adam has clarified as much. ]

But whatever, even if it's just one person on each team then it'd work. So if everyone else opted out it wouldn't even matter as long as Stiles volunteered to potentially become his butt puppet.

And since no one else is voicing their hesitation, he just assumes they're all in except for Lila. Which is a little surprising given how people are usually anti-telepathy.

It also makes Adam wonder what Lila's deal is--especially since she was at the psionics lecture, too.]
