mark andres ♔ (ota).

[ the people have spoken, and gladly accepted their long lost prince back as their ruler. there's still an eventful coronation hanging in the near future, but for now, mark will be spending a lot of time on andres speaking with the parliament and the people in order to help the former establish the new laws that will govern what power he will hold as king. despite the lack of formal title yet, he's still 'your highness' to those on andres - and still just mark to the knights who know him best. he spends the entire month on andres, however, so those who wish to see him will have to travel there. there's a lot to be done - and one of the first orders of business is for him to start hiring on those who are going to work at the castle. he interviews soldiers and servants personally, so if anyone's looking for a career move, here's your chance... ]

[Unlike the months previous, Alainn can actually be found around the palace quite frequently of late, no longer avoiding certain company either. On this particular day she's come to the palace to congratulate Mark on his win (no one was surprised), and also to apologize for possibly embarrassing the heck out of him for going all rambo on his stage.

Unfortunately for Alainn the palace is freaking huge and she is completely lost in it (Navigate: crit fail). So, here she is wandering the halls, but she's not too pressed about it as she takes in the beauty surrounding her. The artwork on the walls, the grandeur of the architecture all just take her breath away.

With Fede on her shoulder she keeps a running commentary of what they see, voice soft in the echoing space.] 'Tis beautiful, isn't it girl?

[ she would hear voices around the corner, one belonging to a stern, 30-something guard, and the other to a middle-aged woman who seems to be saucing him. rounding the corner, she would see them, the guard defensively positioned, clearly trying - and failing - to run the woman out. exasperated, he says: "If you'd like an appointment to apply for a position, you'll have to submit a resume, the same as anyone else, ma'am, no matter who you used to work for." "Poppycock," is her rather charming reply, as if that's a perfectly normal way for people to still talk in 2015. "Do you know how many years I served the Andres family? You just tell Prince Marcus who I am, he'll dress you right down for this, young man. Do you know that I used to wipe his backside? Need an appointment. Why, I never." ]

[Curiosity draws her around the corner to witness this little scene play out, her pointy ears perking up at the woman's words. She chuckles at her vernacular, eyes going from the guard and back to the woman in amusement. Crossing her arms she can't help but to add her two cents to the conversation.] It sounds like yer outmatched, boyo. If she wiped Mark's arse then I think she's got one up on ye.

[behindcloseddoors]

[ the guard all but rolls his eyes, finally giving up apparently. "Fine, just... wait here, while I go find him, at least. Stop touching everything." with that, he heads off, and the woman nods her head approvingly. ]

[She takes a few steps forward as the guard takes his leave, another chuckle escaping.
] So, ye knew Mark when he was a lad then?

[/doesn't find it strange or rude to call Mark "Mark" and not "Your Highness". ]

Knew him? I was the head of this household, I should say I knew him. And who might you be?

[A woman after Alainn's own heart! She grins, stepping forward with an outstretched hand.] Me name's Alainn O'Rourke, I'm one of the Knights who came with Mark to depose Dimitris. [She nods to the bird on her shoulder] And this beastie here is Fede.

[ she takes her hand with a hearty shake, glancing at the bird as well. "Well, I'm proud to meet you then, Alainn. You may call me--" but she's interrupted by an astonished voice coming out of a nearby door. ] ... Marie? [ mark is standing there, staring at her as if he can't quite believe what he's seeing ]

[Alainn jumps at the sound of his voice, stepping back a bit to give them some room. She glances between the two of them, a small smile playing across her lips.]

[ "Marcus?" she turns towards him as well, and then smiles widely, moving to pull him into a hug, that he returns after a second with an enthusiastic grin of his own ] Oh my god. I thought you were--

[ "If you say dead, Marcus Andres, I'll swat you on the bottom, grown prince or no." ]

[A smile cracks her lips with a chuckle slipping out. She can't help but to say-] Now that's somethin' I'd like to see. Come now Marcus, humor a lady will ye?

I was going to say 'never coming back'. [ sry alainn ] I can't imagine anything could ever kill you.

[ she nods fiercely. "Well, of course not. But I wasn't about to work for that maniac. I came back because I heard he was finally gone." ]

[attollores]

[well shucks, she really wanted to see that :D j/k not really. She lets out another small chuckle, eyes passing from one to the other in quiet happiness, glad that Mark had another person from his past who would be there for him. She just leans back against the wall as they talk, happy to let them catch up without her butting in.]

Well, I'm glad you did. Timely, too. I'm doing job interviews today. Assuming you're looking for work.

[ she nods her head, folding her arms. "Naturally. I suppose an interview is perfunctory, then." ]

I'm sure Alainn wouldn't mind waiting a few minutes.

[attollores]

Not a'tall! I can entertain meself, you two please go on. [And she'll just lean against the wall, pulling out her phone and checking her e-mail as they go back to the room Mark had come from.]

[ eventually they come back out and he nods down the hall to marie. "Feel free to take a tour, see what we've spruced up. You can have your old room." ]

[attollores]

[Her smile is small as they re-emerge, still leaning against the wall as she watches them talk. She likes Marie, even from just the few minutes she had interacted with her, and was glad Mark had someone like that in the castle who would hold him true to himself.

Her eyes come back to Mark's face and linger there, still quiet as she slips her phone back into her pocket.]

[ as marie turns to go, mark faces alainn, and a stupid little smile curves up his face as he stares back, taking a moment to linger on her features as well. there's a shift in his demeanor and the tone of his voice as he finally manages to say: ] ... Hi.

[attollores]

[it was what she had been waiting for, that moment of recognition, of anticipation. Her shoulders relax as her smile widens, eyes locked on his as she steps forward to him. Her fingers brush against his lightly, briefly, before she allows it to fall to her side. That's all she does, the only gesture she makes, not knowing where they stand in the physical affection in public thing, but sure that anything more would probably cause a scene. But her vice is warm and soft, the tone intimate and only for him. ] ... Hey.

[ his smile widens at the little bit of contact, but he also seems hesitant to do more right here in the hallway. ] You look-- I mean, you always look--

[attollores]

[Her eyes light up at that, the look she's giving him is appreciative, probably more so than appropriate in public, but she's not actively jumping him so at least there is that?]

You too, love. [Her voice takes on a sultry tone, biting her bottom lip. She can't help but give him a nice, slow once-over, eyes heavy-lidded as she locks gazes with him again (Willsave: Crit fail.) Stahp Alainn, not in the hallway!]

Am I interrupting yer interviews? [glancing at the room behind him all casual-like]

[ WHY WOULD YOU LOOK AT HIM LIKE THAT ARE YOU TRYING TO GIVE THE KING OF ANDRES A BONER IN THE HALLWAY ] Uh, no, no at all. I was hoping to see you, actually.

[Maybe she is okay!! You're not her supervisor!]

Oh really? Well, it's a good thing I found ye then, especially considering the fact I was lost just a bit ago. [she tries to keep her tone light and her eyes from mentally undressing him, but her failed will save is still affecting her, and she's failing spectacularly. Is that room empty behind him?? She might try get him in there if she can't pull herself together soon...]
