[ most of the time, kali whiles away her hours in the training room, hefting up new punching bags when she decides to recreate that scene in the avengers. she doesn't mean to! she's used to punching bags made for her. maybe they have a stockpile of punching bags here made for dragons... she should ask.

if she's not beating stuff up, she's in the kitchen eating. all she knows how to make is bacon and eggs, but she is very good at bacon and eggs. so good at bacon and eggs. her bacon and eggs would make gordon ramsey cry tears of joy.

sometimes she tries to catch up on the pop culture reference she missed growing up, but that doesn't last long as she has the attention span of a gnat. power rangers tho. power rangers. she is all up on that. she's gonna be the pink ranger when she grows up. ]

[Kate doesn't know why, but breakfast foods - doesn't matter the kind - have always brought up an odd sort of nostalgia for her - warmth and comfort twinged with a bit of sadness. It's one of the things she's forgotten about her life, but she doesn't know how to get it back.

(She knows what they say - memories taken by the Veil are memories she's never going to get back, but she can't help but want them, one way or another.)

It's the bacon and eggs that draws her in, and she leans in the doorway for a moment, trying to see if exposure would force whatever it is to break free and tell her what she needs to know, even if she knows it won't. But after that moment passes she decides to talk to the person cooking instead, to see if that will be a sufficient enough distraction.]

That smells fantastic.

[felidity]

Thank you. [ she happily preens, wiggling with cheer. ] Do you want some? I made way more than I can eat.

[ a beat. ]

No, I didn't. But I made way more than a normal human can eat.

[She smiles a bit at that before nodding.]

I would love some. And I could make up the difference with some waffles if you're interested.

[felidity]

Oh! I love waffles!

[ waffles are new and exciting. waffles have no nutritional value so of course kali loves them. ]

[Well, that just settles it.]

One batch of waffles, coming up.

[And she will bustle around to go find what she needs.]

[ she vibrates with glee, making sure to stir the eggs so they don't burn or curdle. ]

I'm Kali. Like the goddess. Though she is not the goddess of bacon and eggs, which is a pity.

[Kate hasn't been reading up as much on her Hindu goddesses as she should have, but she manages to at least recognize that much (knowledge theology 9).]

She's Hindi, isn't she?

Uh-huh. Black Kāli, Goddess of Time, Change, Power and Destruction. [ so proud of herself for knowing things. thanks willow! ]

[Willow is the best. Kate just nods in acknowledgement as she pours the first batch of batter over the waffle iron that she procured ... somewhere.]

Sounds like that's quite the namesake.

I like her. She has many arms and wears a belt of human skulls. Which doesn't seem very sanitary.

[killmypatience]

I'm sure she cleans them before she adds them to her collection.

[Or at least she hopes. If Kali is an actual person.]

Then again, it wouldn't be nearly as terrifying if it was clean and tidy.

A belt like that is a communicable disease just waiting to happen.

Fortunately for goddesses, they probably don't get sick.

I suppose. That's handy. And they can still get other people sick, that way.

[She shrugs.]

Diease is it's own form of destruction, in a way.

Like plagues!

[She laughs as she pulls off the first batch of waffles.]

Yeah. Like plagues.

[ well now she is 100% distracted by waffles... and dumps the eggs on to a plate in some good timing. the bacon is still baconing though so they have a wait a bit for that. ]

They smell yummy.

[She smiles at that before nodding.]

For some reason I have a knack for breakfast food. It's about the only kind of cooking that comes naturally.

[felidity]

I only know how to make bacon and eggs, but the internet is full of cooking shows, so maybe I will learn more.

[killmypatience]

There are a lot of different recipe books too, depending on what you like to eat. So long as you can follow step-by-step instructions things usually come out okay.

[She preps another batch for the waffle iron before she continues.]

Though cooking isn't an exact science. A lot of it is intuition.

[felidity]

[ pokes at the bacon. ]

If it was an exact science, I would be very good at it.
