[Willow is the best. Kate just nods in acknowledgement as she pours the first batch of batter over the waffle iron that she procured ... somewhere.]

Sounds like that's quite the namesake.

I like her. She has many arms and wears a belt of human skulls. Which doesn't seem very sanitary.

I'm sure she cleans them before she adds them to her collection.

[Or at least she hopes. If Kali is an actual person.]

Then again, it wouldn't be nearly as terrifying if it was clean and tidy.

A belt like that is a communicable disease just waiting to happen.

Fortunately for goddesses, they probably don't get sick.

I suppose. That's handy. And they can still get other people sick, that way.

[She shrugs.]

Diease is it's own form of destruction, in a way.

Like plagues!

[She laughs as she pulls off the first batch of waffles.]

Yeah. Like plagues.

[ well now she is 100% distracted by waffles... and dumps the eggs on to a plate in some good timing. the bacon is still baconing though so they have a wait a bit for that. ]

They smell yummy.

[She smiles at that before nodding.]

For some reason I have a knack for breakfast food. It's about the only kind of cooking that comes naturally.

I only know how to make bacon and eggs, but the internet is full of cooking shows, so maybe I will learn more.

There are a lot of different recipe books too, depending on what you like to eat. So long as you can follow step-by-step instructions things usually come out okay.

[She preps another batch for the waffle iron before she continues.]

Though cooking isn't an exact science. A lot of it is intuition.

[ pokes at the bacon. ]

If it was an exact science, I would be very good at it.

[She nods in agreement.]

Though I think it would be less fun. Part of what makes food interesting is the different ways people like to cook it.

I thought all the fun was in the eating.

It is. But no two people are going to make waffles or bacon or chicken the same way. It can be fun to taste the differences, especially if they do it well.

Did you know that some people eat chicken and waffles. Together.

[ she doesn't get it??? it's breakfast food??? and food food??? WHAT'S HAPPENING? ]

[She laughs.]

Yeah. There's actually two different versions - one is really popular with the Pennsylvania Dutch, which has pulled chicken, like from a crock pot? And gravy on top. Then there's the more well known version from Baltimore that has fried chicken and waffles.

[Kate apparently really knows her breakfast food. Waffles are very important (knowledge nat 20).]

But it's chicken. With waffles. It doesn't make sense!

There are a lot of food combinations that don't really make sense. Like ... french fries and milkshakes.

[ her nose wrinkles intensely. ]

Ew.

Yeah, I thought so too at first, but the salt balances out the sweetness of the milkshake surprisingly well. But you have to be the kind of person that likes mixing salty and sweet - not everyone is.

Hmmm, I'll try it.
