[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.
You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. You can also specify 'single thread', meaning you want only one response for all participants, rather than multi-thread, where a number of different scenes/threads can be done as replies to the top prompt.]

myri | ota
She fixes food for herself and walks the courtyard. She works in the Dragon's Light wing when she's feeling up to it. She visits friends and takes books from the library to make sure she keeps up with her reading.
She does all the things she would do if Finnick were still around, but she just does them without him at her side or without him to come home to. She manages to do it all with a smile on her face, even if it doesn't quite reach her eyes. She's coping, however she can.]
no subject
Time to learn all the things about the Veil she never thought it important to learn before.
She's got a stack of books and for once the library is actually fairly busy. She glances around at the different tables for a moment, before she notices that Myri's is fairly empty, at least for the moment. She makes her way closer, before placing her books down on the far table.]
Sorry - but do you mind if I sit with you? Promise I won't be too much of a distraction.
no subject
Oh- yes, of course. Please have a seat.
no subject
[She sighs as she slides into her seat, picking up one of the books and starting to page through to find the table of contents.]
Crowded in here today.
no subject
It seems so.
no subject
[It's been a busy few months and it looks like it's only going to keep getting busier, which definitely isn't a bad thing.]

Perhaps Alanna's not the one to make that claim, given that she hadn't even been able to recognize that the woman wasn't herself—or that she was splitting time with Spike. Yet she can't help but notice the change in attitude.
When Myri comes in for one of her scattered trips to the Dragon's Light wing, Alanna approaches her with a smile. ] It's lucky. [ She nods to Myri. ] This mission of yours, it used to have you out of the castle all the time. You've been back a lot lately, though. Settled. Must make things easier for the, um. [ She points towards Myri's stomach. ] Appointments.
no subject
I think Wynn will make sure to keep me home for some time now. [She hasn't talked to him about her future mission status. Even after the baby is born, it won't be the same. She does her best not to think about it, else she'll start worrying about future missions already.]
It does make that part much easier.
no subject
[ She scoffs at the very notion. But then, realizing Myri's going to be a mother duh, she softens and acknowledges, ] But I can understand why you might want to.
[ More accurately: she can understand why someone else might want to, but she'd never be able to stand it. Sitting around while everyone else goes about adventuring. ]
Do you know if you're having a boy or girl?
no subject
A girl. [She says with a small smile, choosing to leave the other topic alone.] Only a few months now until I'll meet her.
no subject
[ Alanna tucks hair behind her ears, smiling. ]
What do you reckon she'll be like?
no subject
I just hope that she'll know from the very start just how loved she is.

like when she has to go to the cleric's wing to be watched drinking two quarts of water within two hours due to dehydration. she will leave the room for her baby. at least they've left her alone to drink her water and build a tongue depressor trebuchet, so that's nice. she's deep in thought sipping from a straw and gently gluing pieces together when she looks up to see myri. ] Hey Myr.
no subject
What are you building there?
no subject
no subject
Planning on flinging things around the wing later?
[She manages a small smile, even if it doesn't reach her eyes.]
no subject
Maybe. Cotton ball cannon balls. [ as she sits up a little, her fingers drum against her belly and the corners of her mouth twitch. ] Nothing else to do while I'm growing a tiny person.
[ which isn't quite true. vi actually has put a ton of stuff on her plate; gathering the furnishings for the baby and assembling them all in the middle of the night when she wakes up from more nightmares, moving all the things she wants to keep from luthir's room to her room so wynn can finally offer that room to someone else, a tremendous amount of research into luthir's heritage so that she can teach his daughter what he should be teaching her, studying elvish so she can be more fluent when she talks to lucia in her father's tongue, writing everything she can possibly remember about luthir in the baby book so she will know who he is as she grows up even if vi forgets some of the details, folding so many tiny clothes -- teeny socks and little dresses, miniature sized bathing suits, what feels like hundreds of diapers... she's meticulous, slightly obsessed, but what else does she have to live for, really?
this kid is her life.
she didn't choose to do it all by herself, but what choice does she have? luthir is gone and she has to play the hand she's been dealt. it sucks, but she's certainly not going to make it seem like it's hard on her, even if that means she may come off callous or flippant sometimes. ]
no subject
Not that anyone made that her job, but she felt like it was. Or she did. Lately, she doesn't know what to do with herself.]
I overheard them talking. It seems like everything is normal and healthy with the baby.
[She wonders if she should be taking more of a role in Vi's pregnancy. But in truth, the help she could offer is so primitive compared to others here. And she's never dealt with elf blood. It's likely best that she leave that to the experts.]
no subject
Yeah, she's fine. Takes after her Daddy so she'll be tough as nails. [ probably. well, she hopes she takes after luthir, he was awesome and majestic and incredible.
she gets what's going on with myri but she doesn't want to articulate it because, well, finnick isn't dead. it's not the same and she doesn't want to make it the same when there is still some chance that finnick will come back to myri. which is why she stays silent, she's still processing her own grief, something she doesn't want to postpone or control lest she slow it's progression and gets stuck in a trap of avoiding her feelings. ]
I just keep forgetting the whole hydration thing is a thing I need to do 'cause she's stealing all my nutrients like a teeny little klepto.
no subject
At least it's theft for a good cause. [She says with a small smile.]
