[It was a thought that she simply hadn't entertained. Witchwoman were not supposed to be able to conceive a child. The ability wasn't passed on genetically. It simply appeared or was taught. She's realizing more and more how many unknowns there still are here.]
Does it feel... I keep thinking I'll suddenly feel prepared for this at some point. And you've been waiting for it so much longer than I have, so I just... wondered if maybe it felt more...
[She's not even sure what word she's looking for. She just moves her hand, like Vi should definitely be able to sort out the idea she's going for here. And maybe she can. She seems to be able to pick up what Myri's going for a lot of the time.]

I dunno if Lu's going to get gifts from my mom, I honestly hope that she doesn't. She's more mortal than divine so hopefully she'll feel less pulled apart like I do, but if she does, I mean, no one is going to understand better than I do. If Shay has magic like you do, she's going to have the best teacher already -- You.

she shrugs, reaching out to catch myri's fluttering hand in her own, twisting their fingers together automatically. ] You are gonna be an incredible mother, Myr. You're kind and gentle and you will protect her to the ends of the earth and then some, and she will know every single day just how loved she is, even when she's a horrible demon teenager and doesn't want to listen, your daughter will always know she's loved. Everything else... we can tackle when it happens.
[ we. they've always been a team the two of them, by choice, but now they actually need each other. ]

She's had so many people to lean on. Buffy and Mark and Elena and... Well, no one has turned her away. Some are less comfortable than others (like Kat), but it's been a conscious effort on Myri's part to not put too much of her worries on Vi's shoulders. Truthfully, the woman has enough of her own to worry about. On top of everything else, she knows well enough by now to know that any of the colder months simply aren't the best time to pile more on Vi's plate.
But if she's honest with herself, Myri's felt a bit lost lately. Finnick and Vi have been the core of her makeshift family- the ones she thought would always be close by, even as the others might splinter off to follow dreams elsewhere. She just assumed it would be the three of them (and any additions that may come over the years) until the end of their days.
But with that sense of stability rattled, with the certainty of it ripped away and left with questions there just aren't answers to... Myri can't help but want to cling to Vi for a piece of what they used to have, even if it's not the same, even if it may never be the same.]
It's funny. I know without a shadow of a doubt what a wonderful mother you'll be. Not traditional, of course, but wonderful in your own way- as you are with everything. But when I think of what I might do with a child to raise? I just... can't imagine it. [She takes a deep breath and gives Vi's hand a small squeeze, reminding herself that it's alright to feel this way. That's what she would tell anyone else who might say these things to her, at least.]
Which is why I'm glad it happened that we're doing this together. I feel less... lost thinking of having you there with me, figuring it out as we go.

vi is still reeling from luthir, the loss of finnick (whatever permanency there may or may not be to his condition) has stayed on the back burner because she doesn't want to give up hope, even if it seems there is little. she's stubborn to a fault, this is one of those times that she's not fighting her nature. ]
Well, we do always seem to see the best in everyone else, but only the worst in ourselves, makes sense we wouldn't be able to see how great we're gonna be with little humans.
[ she uses her grip on the other woman to tug her a little closer. ] Anything you don't think you can teach Shayla, I've got it. All the stuff I know I can't teach Lucia, I know you'll make sure she knows. Between the two of us...
[ she trails off, but the end of the thought is obvious enough. they'll manage, they'll muddle through together, pulling in little threads from the rest of their make shift family so that while the loss of their fathers will never really go away, it will be less hard to the girls to accept. that's all vi really wants, for lucia grow up safe and happy and loved, knowing that luthir was a good person that loved her beyond measure and that she was made from that love. ]
If we do get lost -- [ she looks down at her converse and her messily tied laces. her bunny is still hopelessly directionally challenged. ] -- the others will find us. I'd say we could leave breadcrumbs, but Amaranth would probably eat them.

Myri glances down at her familiar and smiles weakly, tears in her eyes as she looks back up at Vi. They haven't fallen yet, but threaten to do so with each passing second.]
I know you're right. I know it'll be fine. Somehow. It always is, even with... everything. [Danger and torture and death and madness and war and... wow, their lives are intense.]
