[Fortunately for Stiles, Cora's got some lightning fast reflexes and manages to keep them both steady on their feet (reflex save 21). The fact that Stiles seems super distracted, however, is worrisome and she can't help but frown (sense motive 14).]

Yeah, I'm... [He shakes his head a little.] not really sure, actually.

[At least he's owning up to that part.]

You know how Derek doesn't really remember...anything? I'm feeling a lot like him right now. One of the newer squires apparently knows me really... really well and I don't remember anything about her. It's kind of freaking me out.

[Cora knows enough to figure out the context clues. Especially considering the options are either Liam or Malia and Malia is the only one that "her" would apply to. So she hazards a guess.]

Malia?

[She also ... doesn't want it to be Malia. Please be some new Beacon Hills person that she doesn't know.]

[He just... swallows hard and nods.]

[She shakes her head.]

No. She's my squire and she said she knew you but that was it. I didn't really ask much beyond "from Beacon Hills."

She says she and I were dating. I don't remember her at all. How does that even happen?

The Veil, I guess. How does Derek forget his entire life?

[killingtodeath]

Yeah, I guess. It's just... [He sighs and shakes his head.] It's weird to be on this side of it.

[impetere]

[She nods in agreement. It sucks no matter what side of it you're on. She glances away for a moment before turning back to him again.]

What are you going to do?

[killingtodeath]

I don't know. Talk to her? Malia, I mean. I feel like I should talk to her. Do you think I should?

[impetere]

[Cora nods in agreement. Talking to her is definitely better than avoiding her, but she knows that there's no real way out of this where Malia doesn't get hurt. She knows that from experience.]

Just go easy on her. I know it's probably frustrating that she knows more than you do or ... expects things, but ... it's not her fault you don't remember, you know?

[Not that she thinks Stiles would blame her, but anyone could probably use that reminder when it comes to dealing with the Veil.]

I'm not frustrated. I'm just... it sort of freaks me out? [Unlike his slip up with Lydia, though, he will refrain from mentioning how she legit crawled in bed with him to tell him all of this though.]

I'll try to talk to her about it, though. [Eventually]

[Cora shifts uncomfortably, not really sure what to say here. Stiles knowing her had freaked her out a little, but at the same time, he wasn't claiming to be her boyfriend. He just knew her. She can get where this was a little more intimate, and a little bit scarier.

She also doesn't really think this the kind of thing that falls under mentor/squire purview - trying to talk to the surprise girlfriend of your best friends boyfriend about him feels like too many complications. This is what happens when you aren't really used to people.]

I'm sure you'll figure it out.

[Stiles was way better at the people thing than she is.]

Is there anything I can ... do?

Could you maybe try to talk to her? Not like... I don't really want you to ask about that specifically. Just see if she's okay? I felt like a dick after everything. I just don't want her thinking she did something wrong.

[She nods. Malia didn't really seem all that receptive to talking about Stiles during the full moon, but maybe now that she has a little more context (and it's not a full moon) that might go a little easier.]

Yeah. I can do that.

[She nods, pausing awkwardly as she isn't sure what else to say, before deciding that it might be better to just move on before things get worse.]

[She pauses and jerks her thumb towards the direction she was heading.]
