[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. ...Oh. [Her gaze drops again, the brace on her wrist still worn for part of the day- and on right now, as it happens. She shifts awkwardly, as if she's not sure just what he might say on the matter.]

Well, one, this isn't too far off from what my life was like back home. Two, my Mom's been working here for like....four decades. Pretty easy decision, honestly.

[She tilts her head.]

Hey. [He collects her in a warm hug, careful not to press against her wrist.] I came to see you, okay? Don't give me those sad faces.

[She sinks into his embrace, a little awkward between the wrist and her very large belly, but they make it work.]

Better if you didn't have to come for something like this. [She says quietly, still leaning against him.]

Yeah, it would be, but life's unfair that way. [He glances down at her baby bump.] So is she gonna come out and say hi soon or what?

Elena's 21st Birthday - June 22nd - One Thread

[After some pre-gaming at the Castle, Elena meets up with everyone who decides to show at a swanky club out in London.

With a rocking disguise check of 42, she's smoking. She's also at the bar, bringing up a hand to cup the side of her mouth and help her shout.]

At least another month, from what they tell me. But she seems healthy. [Pulling back, she places her good hand on her stomach for a moment, feeling around before reaching for Des' hand.]

Pretending that's anyone I know? [ kat watches for a bit while des chops at a training dummy with surprising accuracy before she finally speaks up. she's got a water bottle in one hand, and she takes a drink, raising her eyebrows at him. welcome back. ]

It varies. [He grins cheekily over at her, and then tries to do kind of particularly impressive move and... crit fails, the blade slipping out of his hand, while he jumps back to avoid getting stabbed in the foot.] So do you grease the handles on these in your spare time or what?

[Ooh don't mind if he does. He laughs as soon as he feels the first kick, the smile going right to his eyes.] Damn. She's a lively little thing. Hope it's not my shins she's gonna start kicking first.

[She looks pleased as punch to see him as she enters the training room, her eyes practically twinkling. She waits until he can tear his attention away from hitting things with swords before she adds:]

[ lucky wanders in first, alerting myri that kat's gotta be around somewhere. the black cat leaps up into her lap with a petulant meow, and kat leans on the doorframe, hesitating on entering. ] I, uh. Heard.

[myri jumps a little as lucky takes up residence in her lap, but relaxes quickly, petting the familiar softly before glancing up to see Kat in the door frame.]

Yes, I... I imagine word has spread. [She doesn't look much more comfortable about the whole thing.]

[Malina follows the sound of Redbone to the bowling alley, and she smirks a bit. Say what you want, but most of the songs he's got on that cassette tape are classics, and she would be lying if she said she wasn't a fan.]

It's called an akhlut. It's a wereorca about the size of a bus. Most of the time it lurks in the water in whale form eating seals and staying out of the range of fireballs, but when it decides it wants harder prey, it shifts to wolf form and decides to snack on people.

[So yeah. Fish was an understatement. And not even entirely accurate because they're mammals.]

That one was the longest recently. Most of them only take a day or two to sort out, and yeah, we always work in teams. There are only two knights that are allowed to take missions on their own and that's the Dragon's Claws - the elite of the elite.

[ after his guadalajaran adventure, life for alex more or less goes back to business as usual. he spends a lot of time in the garage or out on the airfield. sometimes he drives out to london and isn’t seen for a day or two. just out and about. he also spends a fair amount of time at the firing range. and sometimes he is just around the castle taking random pictures of shit with his phone like a 20something girl with a facebook problem?????

annnd then there is shark week during which he doesn’t leave the rec room like at all and camps out with pizza and junk food. let’s be real there’s probably a shark week party. with those shark gummi bears and shit.

[dante is still doing the same stuff he was doing when he came back to the castle in january — hanging out in the training room and sometimes at the old man bar late at night. sometimes he’s even in the library. around july, though, he basically starts camping out in the training room and like never leaves to the point that it might be vaguely concerning??????]

She flashes him a smile in return, settling on her stool and looking him over. He's not someone she recognizes, but that doesn't stop her from being friendly. Just because he hasn't been squired yet doesn't mean that she should offend potential future coworkers.
