[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. [Sweets moves to sit across from her, a legal pad sitting on the table next to his chair, and he gives her a small smile, before rubbing his hands together.]

Okay. First things first, I'm Lance Sweets. You can call me Lance, or Sweets or Dr. Sweets or Sir Sweets - whichever you're the most comfortable with.

[She just nods, not sure what she's most comfortable with just yet, but understanding her options.]

Myrilandel. [She gives her name in return, in case he wondered how to say it.] Myri is fine, though.

[He nods in acknowledgement, before leaning back in his seat a little more.]

Have you ever done these kinds of sessions before?

[witchwoman]

[She shakes her head, glancing down at her lap.]

Okay. That's okay if you haven't - I have a feeling a lot of people around here haven't.

[Mostly because the Faerun probably doesn't have psychology as a profession, but that's neither here nor there.]

Anyway, everything you say here is just between us. It's called patient confidentiality, it means that I can't tell anyone what you say to me, no matter what it is, including Wynn. I can make recommendations to him based on what you say, but I can't convey those details.

This is meant to help give you a safe space where you can be honest and talk about things you might not be able to talk about with anyone else, out of fear of hurting their feelings or not wanting to burden them with that information or having people use it against you. The kind of things where talking about it is important, but you don't have anyone you can really talk about it to. Does that make sense?

[She nods, showing that she understands. But she doesn't say anything at first, not sure where to even begin.]

[He knows it can be a lot. But right now, they can start small and go from there.]

Since this is our first time meeting, why don't we start with basic getting to know you stuff. Like ... where were you from before you joined the Knights?

[witchwoman]

They found me very quickly after I came through the Veil. Before then, I traveled a land called Kardia Hodos, the kingdom of Corronan, specifically.

[His head tips to the side as he listens.]

Do you remember much of it?

[witchwoman]

As far as I know, I remember everything. Well- everything that I ever remembered, at least. I never knew my family, not even on that side of the Veil.

[He nods, considering his next question carefully.]

What was it like?

[witchwoman]

Nothing like this. No electricity. There were laws in place to forbid anyone but a magician to learn how to read. From what I've gathered, it was something like the Shadow world that most of the other shadowkind Knights come from. Primitive. But not the very same world.

[He nods as he processes that.]

Do you miss it? Or do you prefer this world to your own?

[He's found that it can be a toss up, depending on the person and what they remember, but he doesn't expect a straightforward answer.]

[witchwoman]

I was hunted there. I had no family to speak of, save for my familiar. I had no home. This place gave me safety, comfort, and more people who love me than I could have possibly dreamed. I wouldn't trade what I have here for anything.

[Not even to have Finnick back. That's a strange thing to realize. She wants him to come back to her desperately, but not so much that she would give up her family and her home.]

[He nods with a small smile, because that's one of this things he loves the most about what Wynn does here. He gives people who don't already have one a chance to build a family of their own, which is just as important as place and purpose.]

How long have you been with the Knights now?

[witchwoman]

A little more than 3 years now.

And what do you think of the knighthood?

[witchwoman]

Everyone here has been wonderful. I never really knew what a family truly was until I found myself here.

But it hasn't always been easy. You've had some pretty rough missions since you've gotten here.

[The entire Talisman mission has been littered with loss, not just for Myri personally. But there are some blows she had to have felt stronger than others.]

[witchwoman]

We all have. [Meaning her group, but the way she drops her gaze speaks to things that she doesn't want to think about. Like the months of torture, for one....]

[He nods, watching her gaze for a moment and guessing all too easily where her mind is going (sense motive 23).]

You know, I know there are a lot of things that probably aren't easy to talk about, especially given what you've been working on. But sometimes those are the things we need to talk about the most. Carrying them around with you can give them power over you that you might not even realize.

[witchwoman]

I'm not sure I really know where to begin. [Torture time on Andres and the mess with Finnick top the list. He likely has full reports on both.]

[He does, but since this is still their first session, he doesn't want to put her in that kind of position of him forcing the conversation.]

Let's just start generally. How do you feel about your current mission with the Knights?

[witchwoman]

[The problem with that sort of question is that her entire life is basically surrounding this one mission.]

I don't... The work we do is good. I want to see the evils of the world stopped, but...

It can be very stressful, I'm sure.

[The mission has been going on for so long and he's sure there are moments where they just feel like they're in traction and not actually getting anywhere.]

To defeat one evil and find out there's still more out there?
