[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

Cosigned. [ quickly, ] I mean, not that I've ever. [ She straightens, shaking her head as she clears it up. ] But I can imagine.

Well, you can take advantage of our amazing co-pay free health care. Astrid loves handing out birth control. She's gonna throw condoms at you anyway. [ her shoulders lift in a shrug, amused smile tugging at her lips. astrid is good quality. the dragon's light takes all kinds, ok. ]

[ she laughs. ] Probably. She's just really into safe sex. An admirable quality, bless her.

Beats the alternative, that's for sure.

[ A commercial break ends, and Skye redirects her attention to the screen. ]

Man, I haven't seen this one in forever. Has he gone in the lake yet?

Nah, Neville's about to spill the beans about gillyweed first. Neville Longbottom, the hero we deserve.

Have you seen pics of the actor recently? Dude got majorly hot.

Matthew Lewis is the poster child for puberty. I would climb him like a jungle gym.

Speaking of house comparisons— [ Doubling back several minutes in the conversation, she turns to Vi again. ] Which would you be in?

[graveflowers]

[ i wasn't gonna boomerang, but you know. harry potter is desperately important. ]

I dunno. [ her mouth twists to the side, considering. which then becomes a verbal consideration. ] I'm not particularly brave so I wouldn't go with Gryffindor although I do have that reckless, self-obsessed streak. Less of the Harry Potter hero complex. I'd be a Neville or a Ron if I was a Gryffindor. I'm not nearly as clever as a Ravenclaw and I'd never be able to deal with their common room. There's probably a ton of answers to the password riddles, I'd just spend all night on the ladder trying to figure out every possible answer. It would just be a bad idea. Hufflepuffs are too good for this world. I guess Slytherin. I'm not a professional good choice maker, but I'm pretty resourceful and determined. The Legion was big on fraternity. [ and vi has heaps and heaps of personal loyalty. she shrugs. ]

It's kind of hard to escape Slytherin with the whole princess of the Underworld thing and I do deeply identify with Narcissa Malfoy. [ she will do some shit for her babies. ] I dunno, I think that's why the Sorting Hat does the sorting. Impartial third-party observer.

Gotta respect someone who's willing to be that cutthroat and still be upfront about it. [ Skye nods. ] I could never decide where I'd fit. I mean, there's the person you wish you could be, and the person you actually are, you know?

Exactly! Like I wish I could be a Hufflepuff, but if I'm gonna be a Slytherin, I'm gonna be damn good at it. And not join the Death Eaters just to be contrary.

Well, yeah, that's an understood. I'm not running around with Keijen Blade's band of merry assholes and I have this lovely shield. [ the shield that appears in her hand as she summons it, silver with golden leaves etched around the edge and a delicate white and rose gold flower emblazoned in the center. it's a narcissus. ] This would look so bad with those black robes and their early nineties goth aesthetic.

[ Skye sits up straighter. ]

Shiny. Where'd you find that?

I dunno, I just made it one day. [ she shrugs, twirling it slowly in her hands. ] Solace says it's just another extension of my magic. Which makes sense, the flower is one of my mother's.

I didn't even know that could happen. The whole magic thing's not really my wheelhouse unless we're talking dementors and Diagon Alley. [ But she looks impressed. ]

I've always had magic, as long as I can remember, as least, but this is new to me, too. I wear from flowers to healing to this cool shield. [ which fades from existence in the middle of her sentence. ] Which I can't keep up very long, yet.

[ skye's sunny disposition is super appreciated, vi smiling sheepishly. ]

Haven't gotten to use it yet, for obvious reasons. [ and because she uses a bow 99% of the time. ] So hopefully it'll last longer when I actually need it.
