[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. We met a little girl on my last mission, tiny thing, not even a teenager. Powers runnin' amok. I just wanted to know a bit more about them. We don't have stuff like that where I'm from. [ a beat. ] Just aliens.

[ambitionist]

[he frowns, becoming a bit less blase.] What kind of powers— wait, aliens?

Yeah, they're not important. She was makin' monsters with her imagination.

[ambitionist]

Like ... bringing them to life?

[keptbiting]

Seems like. [ YUP. ]

Well, shit.

[ she shrugs, abruptly deciding she doesn't want to talk about it, and returns to the topic of aliens. ]

So my bedroom when I was a kid had this crack in the wall. Apparently it was a crack in the fabric time and space and there was an alien prison on the other side.

[ambitionist]

[i mean ...he's ok with it. especially bcuz] What?

Yeah. One of them escaped through my bedroom and hid in my house for like, ten years. Proper alien just having a secret holiday in my house.

[ambitionist]

That's so fuckin' weird.

[keptbiting]

Innit? The prison blokes tried to blow up Earth when they got through the crack, but my mate stopped it.

[ambitionist]

Geez. Are you mates with Flash Gordon or something?

[keptbiting]

[ her nose scrunches as she smiles. ] It's adorable when you Americans say "mates". [ precious. ] He wishes he was Flash Gordan. He's an alien, too.

[ambitionist]

You haven't heard my British accent. [nor do you ever want to.] So like, have you been to space?

[keptbiting]

Yeah, s'pposed to be going to a space ship, but then I was just here in front of a closed Woolworth's. [ a hand sweeps her hair back from her face, smiling fondly at the memory. she was literally in space at one point, clinging to the edge of the tardis. in her nightie. oops. ]

The hell? That sucks.

It does. [ MOST DRAMATIC SIGH. ] Still got the time travel thing, at least. It was June 2010 when I left. It's not... 2010 anymore.

[ambitionist]

Yeah, it ... sure isn't. Not much has changed, though, so. I dunno how excited you'd want to be about it.

It's just weird. Am I supposed to add those years to my age? I was born in 1989, I'd be 26 on my birthday.

[ambitionist]

I dunno ... guess it's a matter of preference. It's not like anyone has legal documentation here to contradict whatever you say.

[ she nods slowly with a deep sigh. ] What about you, what's your story? Is it good? I hope it's good.

[ambitionist]

[he snorts a little.] It's not that good. I used to live in New York, 'til I got a hit on me. Then I fucked off to Japan. Lived there for a few months, then the Knights picked me up, and here I am.

A hit on you? That's exciting. Little bit terrifying. [ she leans forward again. ] Are you a spy?
