[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! There are some days where it would see easier to have earned the favor of a deity whose modus operandi was more straightforward. And yet, it is in that ambiguity that her vast capacity for trust, and appreciation for free will lies. She does not grant edicts. She allows opportunities.

You know, when you say it like that, she sounds a lot like Wynn. I don't... I don't really mind the cryptic shit, I just want her to know what she's doing. I can be perceptive, but I can also be a moron. If she's depending on me to decipher her vague instructions... well. [ she shrugs. ur gonna have a bad time. ]

If it were essential for you to have done more, she would have found a way to make it clear. Perhaps you are right - maybe all she wished to do was point you in my direction.

If that's the case, I'm gonna need to write her a heck of a thank you note.

When one evil is defeated, it often rises in another form. I had hoped that by placing the Nightmare God under such a seal, that we might avoid this day. But I realize now that this was a foolish hope.

Not foolish, no hope is foolish. Evil's always going to be out there, irritatingly, but we just have to keep fighting. Which isn't fair, but... it is what it is.

I think I've earned my right to some cynicism, after all this time. So long as I manage to keep it in perspective. In the end, I know that good will triumph.

I'm told perspective is good to have. It's not like I don't have my moments of weakness.

Oh! Oh, yeah, no I can't really help that. Awesome god given superpowers, debilitating seasonal depression, everything is a trade off.

In spring, yes. Once winter hits I'll be less self-aware and sane. [ and she won't have luthir this time to keep her safe either. which she seems to remember suddenly like a punch to the gut, eyes drifting down to her hands. ] I feel fine now, so it feels like I'll be fine and I can handle everything and anything and I understand hope and faith, I can persevere and survive, but then winter hits and... it's like I'm a balloon that's been popped and no amount of tape and glue can keep it together and even if they could, there is nothing to fill it up again.

And you've found nothing that offers relief?

Flowers. Luthir made it easier, I felt anchored here. For most of winter I just exist in a state of spite. I don't want to give in because it feels like losing, but it's just exhausting. [ she shrugs, falling back on her defense mechanism of trying to backtrack over telling it like it is and making it seem less difficult. ] I've survived this long, so I figure the spite thing is working, I just gotta... keep duct tape handy. Keep fixing myself when I break.

[ understanding touches the small smile that lifts her lips. she would have liked to keep the old anchor, but luthir fought so hard for lucia, the same way he fought for vi. she can't deny that lucia is as much an anchor to vi's humanity as she is to luthir's memory. ]
