[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok.   Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions:  Dead of Winter, Curse of the Homo Magi, Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood  If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask!  Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

I didn't find shit in my twenties, so maybe I'm not the right person to talk to. [he shrugs.] I think you just have to sort of ... move past it.

I've always sucked at that, I'm still working on it.

I don't think lying about your age would help with that. But maybe that's just me.

I wasn't really going to lie about it. [ she nudges him with her good arm. ]

[ambitionist]

[he nudges her back] Do you really just wanna go to the bar and get smashed?

[theminotaur]

No. [ she shakes her head with a soft laugh. ] No, last time I was that stupid, I woke up with a hangover so bad I thought I was dying. Again.

[ambitionist]

Hangovers'll do that. It only gets worse when you're older.

[theminotaur]

I'll keep that in mind.

[ambitionist]

Try the water and greasy food strategy to get rid of them. Don't try the hair of the dog shit and start drinking more. That's a slippery slope I've fallen on my ass rolling down too many times to count.

[theminotaur]

[ laughter bubbles past her lips. ]

Got it. No rolling down any slopes.

[ambitionist]

[ she nudges him with her good arm like don't be a dick. ]

What's the... worst you've been injured on a mission? [ so not actually casual. ]

[ambitionist]

[without putting much thought into it, bc it's actually an easy answer for him:] I got a knife thrown at me that pinned my hand to my torso.

[theminotaur]

[ her eyes widen like WAT, hand lifting to press against her stomach like she's trying to imagine that. ] Wow.

[ambitionist]

I never told you that story? Loki got pissed at me for texting. Like, fuckin' seriously. [he holds out his hand so she can attempt to see the scar; it's mostly faded but there's still a pale shadow you can make out if you're actually looking for it. he then uses his other hand to lift up his shirt a little bit so he can show her his matching abdominal scar, and then places the right hand over it.] Like that.

[theminotaur]

...wow. [ so eloquent, her hand lifts to brush against her throat before she lets it fall. ] Hannibal says that we adapt to our scars.

[ her eyes flicker up to alex like have you had to adapt? ]

[alex is just 100 percent not hannibal's target audience bc he's like] What the fuck's that even mean?

[theminotaur]

[ mrrrrh, she chews on her lip, but decides against giving a real answer. ] I don't know.

[ambitionist]

I don't think it changes who I am or anything. Although, if it left a hole in my hand I could put stuff in, then maybe I'd be changed. Because that'd be pretty cool.

[theminotaur]

Pocket for your gum? [ that's disgusting. ]

[ambitionist]

Yeah, somethin' like that. I had a potion on hand at the time, though. That took care of most of it.

[theminotaur]

I'm going to have scars from this, but at least no one can see them.

[ambitionist]

I don't really mind it. Your scars tell a story and all that.

[theminotaur]

Not a very good story. [ the levity at his gum pocket fades into melancholy. ] People see my scar and they see a victim, I don't like being looked at like that.

Uh, no, wrong. Victims die. You're a survivor.
