slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol
WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose
The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.
Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...
the wedding | dumage & elena (and kat)
Are you ready for this?

[Elena throws her a charming smile for the benefit on any onlookers, her voice also low as she replies.]
We have to be.
[Simple as that. No going back now. It's already occurred to her how dangerous her role here is, going into this building where who knows how many of their enemies might be waiting, with all of their backup outside, but it has to be done.
Lion's den is a rather apt description.]

[ the guard on elena's side utterly ignores 'lance', too busy looking dumage over, but the guy with the list seems utterly unmoved with a nat 20 will save of his own, perusing the invitation for a moment. finally, he nods them in, with a flat "Enjoy the ceremony", and dumage tosses the other guard a wink, and draws elena inside to the lobby.
there are probably about forty guests or so milling about within already, all of whom drip with the trappings of privilege and prestige of some kind. blood red flowers are visible everywhere, but it's all quite tastefully decorated. string music plays over the speakers, and a line to the left of the doors that head into the chapel itself allows for the guestbook to be signed. ]
no subject
[There's an almost imperceptible nod of her head, and Elena says nothing as Dumage and the guard exchange words, instead playing the easily distractable idiot who is easily impressed by all the massive privilege around him as they move into the lobby.
Of course, she's really looking for people she recognizes and listening for relevant conversations as they head through the group already gathered (spot 30, listen 36).]
no subject
he moves through the lobby, approaching a few figures here and there who must be political allies or friends from the way he greets them, always with a firm handshake and a gripped shoulder. many people crane their necks to try to get a better look over the heads of others, particularly some of the women in attendance, but he seems to be speaking to most people in what must be the local dialect. ]
no subject
[Oh good, some of our other favorite people are already here. That doesn't exactly bode well, does it.
Elena isn't exactly surprised, though, so she'll just try to keep an eye on him while she's here. He's not their target, so unless something else happens, she won't spare too much of her attention to him.
Which is just as well since this guy apparently needs to have a massive grand entrance when it's not even his own wedding. Probably because he's a king. Whatever.
Her eyes skate over to Dumage. What are the chances they'll get away with not talking to this guy? Probably slim.]

"Antoinette, my darling girl, we're so glad you came," she says as dumage freezes slightly in her arms, pressing her eyes together tightly as she tries to keep a smile plastered on her face. "Look at you! It's been years! You're so-- so--"
the man standing behind her keeps his distance, but eyes dumage up with an expression that makes it very clear just what word he would use to fill in that blank - and it is clearly not a compliment.
dumage rallies enough to detach herself when she can, although her mother keeps one hand on her arm. ] I know, Mother. But I wasn't about to miss my only sister's wedding day.
no subject
Gorgeous, right? Even more so than usual, and that's hard to do.
[Gonna finish Mom's sentence there, giving Dad a wide grin and completely ignoring that rather horrid expression on his face. Already getting a pretty good picture here, and 'good' is not the word Elena would use to describe it.
Antoinette, tho.]

"And who is this strapping young man?" she asks with a sly smirk, before she reaches out a white gloved hand to him to introduce herself. "Robin Javier. And this is my husband, Jacques." she waves her other hand over her shoulder, but jacques doesn't bother to take his hands out of his pockets to even extend so much as a shake. he doesn't seem to have much use for dumage's boy toy either, tbh, giving him no more than a curt nod. ]
This is Lance. A friend of mine.
no subject
Now I see where she gets all her good looks from.
[She draws the woman's hand toward her, pressing a polite kiss to her fingers.]
It's a pleasure.
[Diplomacy nat 20. It's fine.]
no subject
"Oh, aren't you too much," she says, as dumage barely manages to suppress an eyeroll over there. "Are you the one who's been keeping our Antoinette away from us for all these years? I can certainly see why she'd be... distracted." it's impossible to miss the passive aggressive edge in there as she glances at dumage, that special press of matronly guilt expertly applied. ]
Not at all. He and I only met this past year.
[ jacques finally speaks up at that, in a voice that carries a heavy french accent. "Of course. You did not expect her to have been with the same man for all these years, did you, ma colombe?" while he seems to be attempting a joke, the strained looks that pass across both robin and dumage's face make it clear that they both recognize it's anything but.
"Well, I certainly don't know what to expect from her anymore, Jacques. It isn't as if she's seen fit to call or write for all this time... I can hardly claim to know her at all anymore, really." she adds her own awkward laughter to the mix, and dumage's eyes tighten as she forces herself to chuckle along, looking as if she'd rather be literally anywhere else on the planet. ]
no subject
It sounds like it's all water under the bridge to me.
[Elena manages to keep her voice easy and calm, as if there's literally nothing tense about this conversation at all. Any other situation, and she'd probably end up instigating some kind of argument or throw some shade to get their attention on her because she doesn't care what these people think of her, but Elena said she'd follow Dumage's lead. Not to mention, they don't want to cause a scene. The less attention on them in general, the better.]

[ robin waves off down the hall.
"Oh yes, she's still getting ready. That Bonquas girl is helping her. Do you know her?"
dumage shrugs casually. ] She's from NOVA Records, isn't she? We've met, now and then.
no subject
[....oh good. Let's add to the list of terrible people. Can't wait to see how long it gets.]
You want to go see her?
[With or without her. Dumage's call. Either way, it'll get her away from her parents.]
no subject
"Naturally, naturally," says robin, although she seems far less eager to let her go, searching for a topic to keep her around, her hand still on her arm. "Have you had the chance to meet the, er, groom-to-be?" the strain in her smile makes it clear that she has mixed feelings on the whole thing, and the deepening frown of jacques is... much less mixed. ]
... Briefly, yes, but I can't say we're very close.
[ "Of course, he's a very, er, busy man, I imagine," she says, glancing around. "We've certainly heard the rumors, but you know, the media does tend to blow these things out of proportion, don't they? I've heard he can actually be quite charming." ]
no subject
[Hahahaha hahaha haaaaa
No.
Elena smirks, giving Dumage a wink.]
I bet he's not as charming as me.
[Fuck you Sarandis, you're about as charming as a roach.]

Nice meeting you.
[Elena takes that opportunity to offer Dumage her arm again so they can both get the fuck out of this situation.
She waits til they are far out of earshot before she murmurs.]
That could have been worse.

[he takes a sip from his wine glass, blinks at the woman as if only just seeing her for the first time, and adds:] Sorry. Where did you say you were from?
no subject
[Elena raises a single brow at her.]
Ouch.
[Except she doesn't sound particularly pressed about it at all, so there's that. Meanwhile, she catches that conversation, head turning slightly towards the noise, but she literally...had no idea what he's going on about. She'll keep listening as they move, in case the blonde sheds some light on something or catches her attention for some reason.]
no subject
Anyway, the point is I'm not the bad guy here. But I mean if he's looking to have an ex-wife as vengeful as my ex-wives? He's definitely on the right track. Between me and you.

[She just nods and gestures for her to go ahead. Gar told her to keep an eye on her, but they were bound to get separated from time to time regardless, and talking to Amanda is a necessity. Dumage's date butting in would be weird, anyway.
She'll take her cue though and head over to the loud gentleman, grabbing a drink off a passing waiter with a tray as she does.]
Nothing worse than a vengeful woman, am I right?
[Just invited herself into this conversation. It's fine.]
no subject
hahahaha...]
Did they run out of juice and coloring books in the other room, champ?
