That's a good choice, it's the most spoken language. Spanish, French, and Portugeuse are good too and once you learn one Romance language the rest are easier to learn. Elven is a root language for Sylvan and Undercommon and Dwarven is the root of a shit ton.

written chinese is confusing because it shares so many kanji with japanese that it's sort of similar ... but not. maybe i'll try spanish. it's supposed to be really fucking easy right
