[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

[ buffy's axe clangs uselessly off the golem, which fixes its attention down on her, as planned. but that also involves... two more slams from its fists coming her way (atk 44, dmg 40 and atk 35, dmg 28). it seems unconcerned by the other golem's fall - not even cutting it a second glance. ] Buffy...

[Amazing Fort of 7. Con drops to 9, HP drops another 8.]

I have the worst hangover all of a sudden... Alright, but I have an idea.

[He begins heading towards the doors cautiously, doing a full withdraw to avoid AoO's - but taking time to shout at the robots;]

Hey! What ever happened to the first law of robotics? "A robot may not injure a human being"

[ gar clearly looks displeased at the idea of not rushing to help her friends, but she actually listens to des' plan too and starts creeping around the outskirts of the cavern, after archer.

the poison finally clears in the air, at least?? until it... does it again. or the other one does it. BUT FOR NOW. ]

[Yeah, no. After watching Buffy get her ass pummeled, he heads her way, taking her by the shoulder and all but yanking her out of the way (str 18)... which she can easily oppose, but he's hoping she won't.]

Abso-fucking-lutely not. Change of plan- you go with them. They need you. And you need to get out of here before you get massacred. Remember what I said on the plane, Buffy? This isn't Sunnydale. And you still have a lot more to accomplish before you die. You're gonna see this fight through to the end, and you are not gonna fail, Buffy Summers. If you never listen to anything else I say ever again- if you never believe anything else I say, then listen to that. Believe that. [He squeezes her shoulders.] I'll be fine.

[He gives her a shove and steps backwards, fully expecting to take the next hit from the silver golem.]

Now move everyone. [Except Spike. Spike can continue punching things until everyone else is through. Sorry Spike but you have like a million HP and damage reduction. You're gonna be okay for a hot minute.]

[Yeah, Spike's actually pretty okay with this plan. Punching them didn't seem all that helpful, so he'll try another method this time.]

[And he's gonna.... try and grapple the robot that's still standing. Yep. This is happening. Don't worry, he won't try and bite it, at least, he's not that dumb. (atk 33, dmg 15, grapple check 24 ACTION POINT 33, dmg 15 if that works, no attack of opportunities provoked thanks to improved grapple.)]

[ spike's melee attack actually connects, but again, without doing any damage to the golem. however, he is thwarted by the fact that it's really difficult to grapple a) large creatures b) creatures with high bab and c) creatures with high strength scores.

when something is all three, well...

opposed grapple check of 48, which means the thing easily wrests out of his grip like it's nothing. ]

[BASICALLY IM USELESS RIGHT NOW??? All Myri can do to hopefully be able to heal people later is make a full retreat. Sorry, bros. So here she goes. Running away to the other side with the doors.]

[ mark does a full retreat as well, coming at the doors from the other side round as archer, gar, and myri approach the other way. ] How are we gonna get these open?!

They look like they're electronically sealed. [ gar notes a panel close to the huge metal doors.

as a free action, the bronze golem releases another cube of that poison gas. des, buffy, and spike are the only ones who have to save vs it. DC is 19 - otherwise Con loss is 3 this time. while it does that, it slowly clanks its way back up to its feet. since everyone else is on silver, he can do that without provoking an AoO but it will take his whole turn. ]

[ Nice try, Des, but str 25 wins. She will let him shove her five feet over to where she now flanks silver with Spike, but then she's shouldering free and (fort 27) soldiering through the poison gas to take a series of aggressive swings at the thing.

Which is a terrible plan, for the record, when one is down to 40 hp. But here she is.

It's not that she wants to die, or expects this is how she has to die, or any of that. But Des' motivational speech has the opposite intended effect—she is going to see this through the end and she is not going to fail and her mission is to protect her friends.

As long as Mark gets through those doors, they'll have been successful. She just has to make sure he gets there alive. The others are gone, and she's not going to convince Des, so she just starts swinging at silver.

(Atk 28 action point says 37, 32, 24. Dmg 23, 27, 21). ]

Well, unseal it!

[ They can only run distraction for so long here ok. And what the hell, second heroic surge for an extra attack (atk 30, dmg 21). No time like the present. ]

[ the silver golem fixes its attention on des and buffy, and brings down one fist on the Slayer's head (atk 35; dmg 29), and another towards des (atk 37; dmg 30) ]

[Archer runs up to the door, and eyes the panel.]

Yeah well, it's too bad she's not here to crash a car into these guys, too.

[He fires up his Omicron Spymaster's laser, in case he needs it - but for now he'll just mash buttons - Computer use +2! 9... Action point, please 20?god I rolled a 9 again. Fuck you action point. Computer Use 11.]

Move over. [ gar budges him out of the way and her fingers start flying over the keys, but each attempt is met with the same error message and she looks increasingly panicked (computer use 22) ] Come along, come along...

[ but then with an amazing action point donated by tifa... (computer use 30) the computer flashes green and the doors start to slide open. ] Yes!

[des looks aggrieved by buffy's refusal to run but there's nothing he can do to convince her, so he backs up out of the golem's reach and begins to.high-tail it to the door, battered but still standing because wow these things haven't even hit massive damage on him yet.] RUN!

[Spike's gonna be the last to run, sorry Buffy, maybe when you have more hit points again he'll be okay with not being last out those doors. And he's still just not inhaling (fort 30).]

Go on! I'm right behind you!

[And he slams his fists into the golem again, or possibly, vaguely past it (atk 24, atk 17).]

[While Gar is channeling her inner Kat (crying about it), Myri focuses on trying to do her part to keep her teammates alive. USING THAT MASS CURE LIGHT WOUNDS SPELL NOW. 17 HP for everyone but Spike. She glances over towards the doors but she's sure as hell not going to be the first one through. Are you high? We have no idea what's in there.]

Whatever's in there has to be better than what's out here. [ mark will be the first one to charge right through those doors, with excalibur at the ready ] Let's go!

I wouldn't be too sure ... [WHEEE FINNICK FOLLOWS AFTER MARK. and gets that sexy healing yeah. such a tag.]

[ sorry buffy. bronze decides you're the worthier target, since you're the only actually doling out any damage to his friend there, and his fists come your way, pummeling the slayer mercilessly, to knock her out for the count. (atk 32, dmg 27 and atk 46 - one away from a crit - dmg 27) ]

Buffy, no!

[ She hardly gets the chance to see it coming.

Buffy turns into the blow, and no amount of Slayer durability can deflect the mighty blows dealt by the golem. The first whack staggers her, taking her legs out from under her, and the second draws a sick crack from her skull.

She drops like a stone, no visible blood pooling around her despite the injuries—all internal. Bruises, broken bones, and internal bleeding. All the same, from where the others stand, it's hard to even see her breathing, lying still on the tunnel floor in an uncomfortable, disjointed heap. ]

[ silver rounds on spike, since buffy is effectively neutralized. :') you got your wish spike :D

(atk 40, dmg 26 and atk 36, dmg 30) means silver slams into him just as he watches buffy fall, not giving him a moment to really process it much. ]

[Archer always knew Silver would be the way to deal with Spike. Who could have imagined it would come so soon.]

[Archer will sigh, and dart back in. Unconscious people can't escape, and he's no good with the non-combat oriented skills. Tumble of 23 to attempt avoiding attacks of opportunity. Going to run in, snatch the downed slayer, and then use heroic surge to get more movement to drag her as close to the door as he's able.]

I said I didn't want to be carrying any goddamned bodies today. What about that are you assholes not getting?

[rationalizes]

[ well what do you know, archer actually successfully avoids getting smacked by an attack of oppt, grabs buffy, and starts back towards the doorway with her over his shoulder. gar shouts: ] Spike! Hurry! <[ and with that, she also slips inside.

for those who have made it through the doors, they'd find themselves in a surprisingly sterile looking hallway, all white floors and white walls, and bright fluorescent lighting. beside the doorway on the inside is a second panel, like the one without. ]

[Des doesn't breathe until he reaches the door, unable to look behind him, afraid that if he sees Buffy, he'll turn around and do something drastic. He skids to a stop inside the door, turning around to watch the last of the scene unfold.]

Jesus Christ. [That's all he's got. He'll manage biting wit and relief that STUPID PLAN ACTUALLY WORKED when he knows if Buffy is alive and sees that Spike gets through safely.]
