Talk about a soiree. The team has walked into what is clearly legitimately a Gatsby party, but with an Indian flair. Even upon approach, it's easy to see that this place is without parallel: people are driving cars right up on the lawn of the fabulous mansion, which looks half-modern and half like a palace out of a Bollywood film. Men and women in bright colors, fabrics, beads and silks move inside en masse, and as the doors are opened before them, they can see the grandness of the interior, with its diamond garland, draped fabrics, giant jeweled elephant statues, indoor trees that arch to the ceilings, twirling dancers, and a tall dramatic staircase leading up to a balcony above where the host himself reclines surrounded by admirers and friends, smoking a cigar.

Liquor flows freely, and food is carried around on golden trays through the crowds. It's an overwhelming buffet for the senses, a dizzying spectacle of color, laughter, dancing, and entertainment.

Andie's sword goes straight through a figment's head, and it shatters in a similar burst of light to the first. Loki's head whips towards her in surprise, which offers him the opportunity to haul himself and Natasha away from David's assault, and the viking charges right past them. ]

So hostile. Perhaps we should find ourselves more amiable company, my dear. [ His attention turns to Natasha, and in a flash of light, both of them disappear. :)

[David sails past Loki. And then Loki and Natasha disappear. His first mission as team leader and he loses a knight and the objective in one fell swoop.

He fights the urge to yell, as much as he may want to. He stumbles to a stop on the stairs, staring at the empty place where Loki and Natasha used to be, before trying to come up with a plan B. Even if he doesn't have a damn clue where to start (spellcraft 5).

They aren't going home empty handed. They're going to get her back, he just needs to get started on how.]

Alright, let's get everyone out of here and heading home. Then we'll regroup and find her and the decanter.

[Alex blinks several times, as if trying to clear her vision, unsure of what the hell she just witnessed but a moment later, she's moving towards one of those doors and is opening it.]

[Yeah she doesn't expect him to come back. Like at all. She just doesn't want to be spotted WTFing at these people by random party guests okay.

As people file out, Miss Udinov here beelines for the group of gun-wielding strangers, a scowl contorting her features.]

[he makes his way down the stairs to join his crew, now that ... this hot tranny mess has only intensified in heat and trannyness. first, he replies to alex u with a saccharine smile:] Not really. this touching moment of speculation and shit is interrupted by the sudden distant sound of thunder, and then a strange crackling that grows louder and louder, before abruptly, a wave of electricity sparks out across the floor, and in a flash of blue light a figure is standing several feet behind them.

he comes to standing from a crouch as a few final bolts dance up and down the length of his arm, and the hilt of the giant fucking hammer he's holding in his hand. he comes to an impressive height when he unfolds himself, about 6'6", and his long blonde hair looking wind-swept as he tilts his head up to take in the scene around him with a scowl. determination flashes in his eyes as they narrow, taking in the chaotic aftermath of loki's wake. it's hard to miss the fact that he's decked out in full battle armor, and a flashy red cape, either.

after glaring at the broken case at the top of the steps for a moment, he turns to demand of them all with the sort of entitlement only an asgardian prince can manage: ] Where is Loki?

[David has kind of had it up to here with people today. He's just about ready to sass off in Alexandra's general direction, when the thunder and lightning show happens and there's Fabio standing in the middle of the room, demanding to see Loki.

He looks at him. He looks at the hammer. He's seen a hammer like it before, and while he's never met Thor - Ka Anor at him before he could have that particular pleasure - it still doesn't take much for him to put two and two together (theology 23).]

I'm pretty sure he's invisible now! [Andie blurts out. She's kinda busy staring at the fucking god that just appeared in front of them that is one hell of a nice hammer. And hair. Does he condition?]

[ lbr that sounds exactly like loki. thor's face contorts in frustration, and he lowers the hammer realizing there is nothing here to pound with it probably maybe ] And have you any idea what it was he came here seeking?

[They were there for it too. But he's not going to give that away right off the bat. He doesn't know anything about Thor. From what he knows about Loki, him having a mind control decanter is bad any way you slice it. But Thor is an unknown entity and he's not going to put that decanter in his hands.]

The name Romanoff mean anything to you?

[Let him think he's after Natasha. That answers more questions that they don't have yet, and keeps him away from their original objective.]

[David is going to just turn on Alex like "are you serious right now" because even if she's more than just some Russian socialite and happens to be some kind of operative that's just stupid spycraft.

That, Princess, is Thor. At least if the hammer is anything to go by. And why the hell are you still here?

[He crosses his arms in front of his chest as he stares down at her, though he's also trying not to take his attention off the guy across the room for too long (intimidate 12).]

[David barely even flinches at the punch, despite it hitting, because he's a freaking Viking, but he let Alex K. do his diplomacy thing because even if he doesn't give a crap about the decanter anymore - they can smash it for all he cares, at least it won't hurt anyone - he knows that exploding at the Udinov princess won't get him Natasha back (will save 22). That's all he actually cares about at the moment.

So with a silent glare of don't do that again, he turns back to Thor to try and get back to the matter at hand.]

[It reeeeally doesn't seem like a good time for fighting people on the same side as you. Andie frowns, bouncing on the balls of her feet, and looks between the two of them, then back at Thor.]

And Loki. Any idea where he might go next?

[ WOW FUCKERS LET THE GOD TALK. he doesn't really flinch when alex cold cocks david, because he lives in asgard with people like sif, this is sunday breakfast. he does, however, seem to see reason in other-alex's entreaty. ]

Natasha is a friend. [ that's the easy one. his expression clouds a bit as he adds: ] And Loki... [ trailing off, as he paces past them, glaring up the steps once more, before finally turning to take them all in ] Is prone to letting his worser nature take hold of him. Fine by me. [Still with a touch of attitude but other dude does make a whole lot of sense right now and it's enough to see Alex turn her gaze on the Adonis in the room, despite a make me eyebrow raise at David first.]

Could he be working with somebody else? [A beat.] If he is, we can probably use that to figure out where he's gone with Red and the decanter. (Wisdom 22)
