Perched at the edge of any civilized lands, the small lumber town of Falcon's Hollow has always had to rely on itself to solve its  problems.  Now the hacking coughs of the sick are heard throughout the town.  The plague has come to the Hollow, and the town is ill equipped to stop it on its own, particularly given its resistance to magic.

That's where the Knights come in, sent to assist a local herbalist in putting together enough supplies to mass produce a cure.

[ she ducks under his arm before he knows what she's doing, and he turns his head to answer miles with: ] It's a -- [ but is cut off by the sudden sound of that giant leaf pile caving in under abigail's footsteps, into the pit below. reflex save dc 20 to avoid falling - 12 dmg if she plummets to the bottom of the thirty foot deep pit.

grimrot would recognize instantly that this is probably a hunter's snare :') ]] ... Trap.

[ haha nope. (reflex save 5) her arms fly up in surprise and she lets out a startled shriek as she tumbles into the pit. she hits the ground with a whimper of pain, collapsing in a heap, muffling any other pained noises in the sleeve of her parka. serves her right for not being smart and cautious; her father taught her better than that. ]

[ logan walks to the edge of the pit, looking down cautiously, hoping to fuck it's not a spiked pit.

it's not, but he grimaces when he sees her down there anyway. ] Hold on, kid. We'll get you outta there. [ he looks over his shoulder ] None of you brought rope, I take it?

[cuivre]

Yeah, hold on.

[Because my characters literally always bring rope. It's on every list I ever make, okay, because of shit like this.

He pulls it out of his pack, handing it over.]

[ logan drops the rope down, considering ] You think you can tie it around your waist, kid? [ he looks skeptical, glancing back at miles to say under his breath ] Otherwise I'll lower you down, you grab her, and I'll hoist you both back up.

[cuivre]

[Miles just looks at him briefly before giving him a quiet nod of his head. He has no problem doing the thing.]

[ gingerly pushing to her feet, she attempts to tie the rope, but fails most spectacularly. probably because she's trying to do it one handed, seemingly unwilling to do anything with her left arm. after a couple failures, she looks up at logan with glassy eyes and shakes her head. ]

I can't do it. I think my shoulder might be dislocated. [ she fell hard, man. ]

[adamantiumed]

[ he nods to miles ] Go ahead. [ he's got a 20 str check, he can hold u ]

[cuivre]

[He makes his way down, helping out with a 14 climb check, before he bends down to scoop up Abigail (str 21).]

I've got you.

[theminotaur]

[ she stifles another pained noise as he grabs her, looping her good arm around his neck to help him out a little bit. and maybe so she can hide her face against his shoulder. ]

Hold on. [ he yanks them both up, arm muscles bulging, and then helps grab abigail and pull her back up from miles ] How bad is it?

[theminotaur]

[ she takes a moment to dip her hand beneath her parka, fingers pressing against her collarbone and shoulder, not managing to hide the pain that streaks across her face. with a treat injury of 30, she definitely knows what's up, slipping her hand down to cradle her arm gingerly. ] It's dislocated. I have a sling in my first aid stuff, I'll be fine.

Place is probably full of traps like that. We've gotta be careful.

[ not far from the edge of the forest shrouded lake, just north of where they discovered the pit trap, a fox with large ears and bright orange fur lies bleeding, its hindquarters caught fully in the jaws of a crude iron trap. it's whimpering pathetically, and seems to have hurt itself more struggling against the trap. ]

Oh geez, poor guy.

[He keeps his distance, but bends his knees to try and look less intimidating.]

Hey buddy. Can we try to get you out of there?

[ the fox stops moving, watching him with wary eyes. he can attempt a str check to pull the jaws open, and everyone can make spot checks in the meantime ]

[ abigail continues to be a failure at everything with her spot of 8. she's too busy settling her arm in to a sling and making a mental note to ask logan to help pop it back into socket when they're finished. ]

[grimrot]

[Grimrot, at least, has her eyes decently open (spot 19). She grimaces in sympathy at the creature as Matt tries to help it.]

[His strength check is a burly 22. Watch dem muscles flex, ladies. Or actually watch what's going on around them that's cool too.]

[ the fox puts up no resistance as miles removes it, whimpering pathetically. it's badly injured, its hindquarters slashed and bleeding.

grimrot notices some movement in the nearby tree line, as if they are being watched... ]

[ she can't see the extent of the injuries, but the animal's cries make abigail want to cry. ]

It may be kindest to put it out of it's misery.

[grimrot]

[Grimrot frowns and looks up squinting at the tree lines.] There's something out there. [She touches the handle of her mace anxiously.]

[adamantiumed]

[ logan turns towards where grimrot indicates, sniffing the air. ] There. [ pinpointing where whatever it is is hiding serves to freak out whoever it is, apparently, because an arrow comes whizzing out abruptly right at wolvy's chest. and... bounces off him lmao with a clink. logan looks down and growls in irritation, extending both sets of claws and snapping his head back up at the bushes.

with a snarl, he leaps into the foliage, another arrow whizzing by his head before he snatches up whoever's back there in his grip, raising them out of the brush and over his head so that everyone can see the muscular, gray-skinned creature that peers down at him with tiny, frightened eyes. wolverine brings up his other claws to the creature's neck. ]

[ the second logan starts moving, abigail draws one of her knives, moving to stand in front of miles and the fox. that's it though, just moving.

and then what the fuck is that???? abigail does not know (arcane lore check 7) and she's pretty distracted by logan just holding him up by the scruff of his neck like a cat. wow he is strong. ]

Rude! [ YOU CAN'T JUST SHOOT PEOPLE. ]
