[ It seems that Wynn was hoping for Sir Mark Sandazhard to reveal his true identity, and to lead the charge against Dimitris Sarandis' tyrannical hold over the island he was born to rule.   He was not disappointed, and Prince Marcus Andres stands poised to lead the group of Knights who he's worked beside for two years, to confront Sarandis, save their friend Kat, and search the castle dungeon for the captive Dragon's Claw, Sir Thomas Bancroft.    

Before they attempt to answer the castle, however, it's time to reunite the Prince with his childhood friends on the Isle, who had long held out hope that he was still alive, including his once-betrothed, Countess Lara Tamon.  Their first task will be to convince Lara to make a risky attempt to draw Kat out of the castle.  

The fate of their captured allies, and the future of Andres Isle, lie in their hands.  ]

[ gar, recovering herself, moves to help Mark just as the effects wear off ] It's... it's alright. None of it is real.

Spike splashes across the river to go towards Des and Myri, and stands between them all, looking vaguely worried, but there are people fretting over both of them, so.

He looks over to Gar.]

What's happening?

[Des takes a long, shuddering breath and peels his hands away from his face and uncurl himself once he realizes he's... not actually in any dire trouble.]

Fucking plant monsters. Fucking hallucinations. [He wheezes. His shoulders shake in a full body shudder and he raises a hand to his hair and makes a face when it comes back smeared in plant gore.]

I'm okay, Blondie. [He reaches up to pat her reassuringly on the shoulder... which means she now has more plant gore on her. It's revenge for splattering him with your cleave attack, okay.

He picks up his discarded gun and stands up.]

[slay]

[ For another moment, her gaze needles him, trying to figure out precisely what he'd been seeing. Deciding that, for now, it doesn't matter, she simply nods and looks behind them. ]

Everyone okay?

[ And then up ahead, further into the tunnel. ]

We should keep going.

[witchwoman]

[Myri's panic subsides as the last of the hallucinations fade, leaving her with tear stained cheeks and a lot of confusion. She looks to Finnick.]

I thought... I mean, my skin was...

[Melting. She thought she was melting. This is really fucked up.]

You're fine now. Your skin is fine. None of it was real. [he puts his trident back on his shoulder strap so he can keep an arm around her.] Buffy's right, we need to keep going.

[witchwoman]

[Taking another shaky breath, she nods.]

Of course. Is... is everyone alright?

[When she's this freaked out, she can't really sense if anyone is seriously injured. I don't even remember if anyone was actually hit by these things but... speak now or forever hold your current hp.]

They didn't hit me. [Des steps over the plant carcass carefully.]

Except for the melting hallucination whammy... [He gives Myri a sympathetic look. THAT WAS FUCKED UP, LITTLE BIT. HE FEELS YOU.]

[Oh no, her baby! Myri shifts to get a better look at Finnick, reaching up to touch his face to heal him... romantically. idk. (cure moderate, +19 hp for you).]

Sorry it -- it felt as real as anything. I thought there was quicksand. [ he rubs the back of his neck, looking down the tunnel ] Hopefully that was the only surprise.

[Des stops a little ways up ahead to reload some more bullets.] As Vi would say if she were here? Everything is spiders.

[he gives the cylinder a good spin and clicks it back into place with a flick of his wrist.] Or plant monsters. Point is... Expect a surprise.

[at this point, he expects literally anything from iscariot to cthulhu to keijen blade riding in on a black dtagon playing heavy metal guitar. nothing is too farfetched at this point.]

Not a surprise if you're expecting it. [He squeezes Myri's shoulder as he passes her, speeding up to catch up with Des.]

Either way, Des is right. We can definitely expect more where that came from.

[ She sets off further into the tunnel after Des. ]

[ the tunnel curves ahead, and they can't see around the bend, but the ground around them quakes a little bit, noticeable with a 20 listen check. gar stops for a moment, looking around. ] I... I don't think those are aftershocks from Kadir's team.

[des cringes. (Listen 25)]

I swear to God, I'm gonna feed Dimitris to one of his pets if we keep runnin' into 'em.

Does that sound big to you? I feel like that sounds big. [ listen 31 ]

[Spike's fangs come out as he shrugs his shoulders, loosening his arms (listen 37).] Guess we'll just have to beat it extra hard.

We're stuck in a tunnel. How big could it -- [ and they round the corner to where the ceiling abruptly gets a little bit higher and find themselves facing the beast that inhabits the chamber beyond.

it's probably about forty feet long, and resembles a dragon so much that those who don't make a good arcane lore check will probably think that's exactly what it is. bright blue, it hosts six pairs of powerful looking clawed legs, and two prominent horns on its head. its back is ridged with decorative looking spines in the center.

it turns its head as they enter, and one thing is very clear:

it sees them.

[ the creature lunges forward, surprisingly agile, thanks to its twelve legs, and bites at spike (atk 29, dmg 17). it has improved grab, which means it can start a grapple without provoking an AoO. its grapple roll is a ... 42. :) hi spike. have a hug. with its... teeth. another 15 damage if it successfully grapples spike in its mouth. ]

[Spike's 22 is not enough to escape getting eaten. He looks PRETTY HORRIFIED all things considered as the awful monster beast bites the fuck out of him. Biting is his thing. Don't be rude monster.

Anyway, Spike might be eaten, but he's NOT tasty. He shouts out in pain and punches the monster. In the face. CAUSE THE FACE IS EVERYWHERE ON HIM. (atk 19, dmg 12, atk 23, dmg 18 penetration).]

Hey! Little late for a midnight snack, don't you think?

[ Raising her axe, Buffy runs for the beast and drives the axe down into its nearest leg (atk 30, dmg 15). Using heroic surge, she takes another few slashes once she's in melee with the beast (atk 25 20 16, dmg 17 18 20 respectively). ]

[ gar pulls up her gun and tries to flatten herself against the wall of the narrow tunnel entrance as she shoots and sees her shot pwing off its side (atk 17) ] Watch out for its breath weapon!
